Quake2 / Unreal / Daikatana speedruns available... [locked]

Lapsed Quaker...

...once again. After being lost in the bowels of Telefragged's FTP for 2 years or so. Yes, I managed to revive my "other" site and amazingly got the download links working. Thus you can now go back to http://teamshambler.telefragged.com/ and follow the menu links to download:

Quake2 speedruns - a couple of original Id map demos, The Reckoning & Zaero mission pack demos, and a load of custom map demos.

Unreal speedruns - several Epic map demos, several Return To Na Pali demos, and several custom map demos (dunno what happened to that Unreal Done Quick site, seems to have disappeared).

Daikatana speedruns - a baker's dozen of in-game demos.

Plus one or two for Wheel Of Time, UT SP, and HL.

Obviously these are not as 1337 as what SDA are doing in Quake these days, nevertheless they are original and mostly unique, and some feature some badass tricks. On the subject of which, I have some trick demos there, some of which (Q2 ones) are pretty cool too.

Besides Shamblers pimping of his own Daikatana demos from years ago I doubt anybody here either has the game or even if they do any interest in making demos for it. So i suggest that that game be removed from this section of the forum.

I doubt even shamber is going to make more? lets let this R.I.P.

Sorry Tim but you are making very little sense there.

So i suggest that that game be removed from this section of the forum.

It's just a name, just a word. The game is not here, it's name is just listed as one of the potential options for games to discuss running on. I hardly think it's an issue leaving that one word up there - particularly as Daikatana is one of the few games that actually has proper single player speedruns on (unlike say Q3A....which is still listed).

So it's a minority interest and only a few people might be interested?? So what?? Having the option here to discuss it is hardly a problem....irrespective of what YOU think of the game.

Perhaps you could make some positive contribution to this forum section EH?

Uh. Q3A has speedrungs. It has a whole movie of the entire tier sequence being completed -- pretty damn fast too.

Uh but it's not a single player game. Playing botmatch as fast as possible is in no way comparable to a proper speedrun through a progressive single player level.

I'd love to see an AVI of an Unreal speedrun. Yes, I said AVI! AVI!!! Really, noone's gonna reinstall Unreal and search for an older patch just to be able to playback the demos.
