I've got the maps from the guide scanned and ready to go.
No idea if it's possible to post them in here, but if anyone is interested just pm me and I can send over Skype or something. They should prove very useful. They show where every mini-con so we can create the quickest path between them

For Veteran we need 35 mini-cons to be able to take on Unicron. Some, as you know, can be reached earlier using the TF jump. We need to figure out which 5 not to get, and at the same time not lose out on one that will speed things up.

Hi! Sorry for the three years of no response, but the good news is, I finally started speedrunning this game! The video of a 100% Recruit run is uploading right now, and I got 1:56:56. That's a really good time. It's sub 2. It's gonna be really hard for me to beat.

I'm going to update some things about my original post that were incorrect.

"Note: In the game, 30 Minicons total are required to be collected before the Unicron level is unlocked, which is the last level in the game. I'm not exactly sure which Minicons are fastest to be collected in which levels, although I have a decent idea." Actually it requires 35 minicons.

Theory 2 on Deep Amazon is impossible with the Jump and Transform technique, as far as I can tell. The only possible way to actually get to the top without the glider is (with a HUGE amount of luck) be hit by a bomb from the jellyfish Decepticlones at JUST the right angles. And even then, I'm honestly not sure how far up you can get before they stop bombing you, since I think after you get up to a certain height. Certainly a TAS-only trick.

The Tidal Wave glitch theory isn't possible, especially not the way I perceived it. I'm not sure where I got the idea that there was an invisible wall on top of Tidal Wave where the bridge is, but there isn't. So those are just regular objects like everything else. You can't fall through any of them; I've tried. Also, the bridge's spawning point doesn't go outside of the room that it's in; I've tried!

Also, apologies for the immature comments and capitalizations. I was young when I wrote this, around 13-14, so yeah...

100% took a bit of routing, but it's finally here, and I'm excited to see a community arise from this! I got 1:56:56. It's my first sub 2 run out of all the practice runs.

Zero shift, I haven't ever thought of freezing Starscream, and I can't believe I haven't honestly. Very, very clever. However, I have found my fights with Cyclonus always easiest going down into the ravine, partially because of his freezeups and other glitchiness. Equipping Ballistic Shield with Tidal Wave is good enough for me, and having the Heavy Rocket Launcher as an R2 attack. On Megatron, I found a glitch where you can go in circles as he tries to shoot you on the hangar below the stadium, and just continuously suck his energy out with the awesome Corona Mini-Con.

Zero shift, and all other users interested in this game, I really suggest watching my run for 100%, recruit, that's about to be finished uploading. I'll edit it into this post. It also features this slope climbing glitch that I found years ago (and I apologize for not updating you on this until now), and I use it to skip the cave and then go back into the cave to get the top, glide-required Data-Con as well as the rest of the cave datacons.

On another note, as far as any% goes, I haven't screwed around with practicing runs for that yet. However, this is my current plan for the Mini-Cons that will be skipped (in Recruit mode, please note that Mini-Cons are moved and switched around in other difficulties):

* The blue Grenade Mini-Con in Amazon (-1). Reason: It wastes time, because we have to all the way down to that cave, then go the original route's way, or go up the slope. You'd have to see it in a video.
* The super-recharging Mini-Con on the island above the water in Antarctica (-1). Reason: Pretty out of the path.
* The stealth field Mini-Con on the huge rock by the waterfall in Deep Amazon (-1) Reason: You pretty much have to get this Mini-Con in two trips. Therefore, getting the majority of Mini-Cons on the second trip and leaving out the one on the rock is ideal.
* The Mini-Con on the island above the water in Alaska (-1). Reason: WAY out of the path. Saves about 1/2/even 3 minutes
* The Mini-Con inside the port's tank in Pacific Island (-1). Reason: Getting this one would require us to go back to HQ later and equip Corona, to make the Megatron fight faster and easier with the circling glitch, and that wastes somewhere between 20 and 30 seconds.

Thanks. I hope you guys enjoy my run. And sorry for the huge wait.

This is the video. It's finally here guys!!! So happy.
It's great to hear from you. Super excited. Watching now and will get back to you soon.
