uploading a video of the setup for the first shot, so its easier for the rest of you to figure it out (took me forever to figure out where to stand and where to look, has to be pretty much pixel-perfect). will edit
EDIT:
uploaded the uncompressed file straight from fraps, I cant get better quality than this

also here it is in 28 seconds
Gets the cake.

Yeah, I wish it was easier to tell. Like bandit5k said, it's about a couple of pixels depending on your angle, so anything except an uncompressed video at full resolution won't even be able to see it

Did this route in 1 segment with 1 mistake. Once you know what you're looking for that portal surface is easy to hit. I've got it 95% of the time now. Re-portaling is the hard thing for me, I never did it in Portal 1 so it's like a new learning experience! Cheesy

#Re-portal from a horizontal panel to the right of the entrance to the "main room". It's closer and should in theory be faster/easier.

Also, is there a forum that has a thread for every map? Having everything in a cluster like this is very messy. It's hard to find if a route you've discovered has been discovered because people aren't naming things logically. Just spent 2 hours finding a route that someone else had found like 2 days ago...Plus a kinda focus liek that would be good. Smiley

I believe this was the jump you were looking for:
Portal 2 - sp_a3_speed_ramp - Wallstrafe Bunnyhop Reportal Jump

Also, I made a new post in the Portal (1) thread. Check it out.... :-P
Woah, howd you do that? teach me how to bunnyhop!

Next set of updates. Not as many today because of the discussion surrounding Portal Done Pro. Sorry about that.

11 sp_a2_laser_stairs Chapter 2, Chamber 02

15 sp_a2_trust_fling Chapter 2, Chamber 06

And, the best route for any map in this game, hands down:
19 sp_a2_ricochet Chapter 3, Chamber 10

WOW i love that last one.

also managed my route without segmenting, 28 seconds still best i can do without bhopping.

Shame to see the object hop in sp_a3_speed_flings is moot. But I found a cool jump to the orange gel run. Here's my proposed route.

Awesome! I wake up and you guys actually did what I was trying to do, stupid 1400x900 res on my crappy screen makes it so hard for me to see that shot -_-. So glad you guys got it.

@Demonstrate Wall-strafing ones makes it harder than it has to be. Just do 1 strafe jump through and you will get the distance.

Here's a video:

Also, here are 2 new routes. I'm not sure if these have been posted already but from my knowledge they haven't.

sp_a4_stop_the_box:

sp_a4_tb_catch:

Nevermind, that last one is redundant because of Nabsterhax's route.
Gets the cake.

I found that my shitty computer running at 800x500 resolution (seems really bad, doesn't it? <_<) made it easier to actually SEE the shot, but harder to make it. I suppose that's how I was able to figure it out =P

Damn, too much cool stuff that has been found recently! Lovely.

This is how I do sp_a2_bts4 - Chapter 5, Level 02 ((((spoiler: involves turret boosting))))

Awesome find! I haven't tried yet but is there a trick to that turret boosting?

I believe this is what AtheistOnTheEdge was talking about. I think he needs a better mental timer, because that definitely takes longer than 10 seconds... whatever.

Portal 2 - sp_a4_tb_catch - Intended Solution
Thanks Demon, I couldn't remember this chamber from the story so I just assumed flying would be quicker. I may come back to it and have a closer look.

If you stand on a 'fake' turret and poke it with another fake turret you will get boosted along with the turret beneath you as long as you keep jumping. Pretty cool.
lalala
Good grief you guys are wrecking this game! I love it to pieces Cheesy

Nothing is redundant. My route is actually quite slow, but i think it all comes down to how fast you guys can figure out the laser-platform and ceiling-button maps.

There's so many possible routes through this whole chapter, i think it will be hard to find the fastest one.

It also comes down to how many maps we want to save the zero gravity glitch on. I mean, we can keep it for almost all of them, but you have to find which ones would benefit from it.

I'm having trouble re-portaling in general. What's the process behind it? Re-fire the portal JUST as you exit/enter/in limbo between? I've done it a few times but I can't get any consistency. :/

E.G. I'm trying to do the route posted for sp_a3_speed_ramp by reportaling from the wall on the right at the entrance to the test chamber to get upto the button platform (i think this is faster than the bhop route you showed) but every time I get even close I end up with the two portals next to each other up at the tower. :/

Just before you enter a portal, fire the same colour into it.

Here's a re-hash of the route for sp_a2_triple_lasers

Also here's my proposed route for sp_a3_transition01 using Paraxade's GLaDOS skip and Harpa's shoot through glass thing

I've also set up a wiki on my website. I'm only giving restricted access but I'll be checking the thread often, adding things as their found. Still have to sort through the last few pages of the thread, but it's mostly up to date at this point.
http://www.adzicents.net/portal2/wiki/
Wait, why set up a separate wiki? There's a perfectly good one right here:

http://speeddemosarchive.com/kb/SDA_Strategy_Wiki

Creating a separate one just creates more confusion, I think.

I've been meaning to suggest to everyone that they collate everything over on SDA's wiki, anyhow - it seems like the natural answer to confusion about what's been done in the thread. I'd suggest everyone try to keep the forum and a wiki page sync'd up as they post.

SDA wiki seems slow...Wont load for me. :x

Then again adzicents doesn't work either.

Edit: It's probably just my DNS acting up.

Now my DNS is functioning, adzicents actually loads. SDA's doesn't. I'm going to use adzicents wiki, if i can get an account/editing privilages. Either that or can you host a forum instead?

We [i][u]need a coherant structure to testing! Else how can science work?
