Nice finds so far!

Quote from error1:
I'm going to need someone to co-op with at some point, only four hours into the single player atm tho.

I'm down. I already started co-op with someone but there's no reason I wouldn't go again. :p

Quote from CMiller:
Are you playing on the PC or the 360 error1? I can co-op on both, but I'd probably play better on the 360. I could at least share all the shortcuts I know.

I'm curious of what these co-op shortcuts are that you mentioned. >.>

edit: oh yea, and if anyone else needs a co-op partner or wants to go glitch/shortcut hunting in co-op, feel free to add me on stream. account is romscout.
Gets the cake.
Just finished single player, loved the ending <3

I'd be willing to play co-op in search of bugs, glitches, and shortcuts, if anyone is interested. Add me on steam, id is zwf8r5497 or z1mb0bw4y or something, I can never remember =P
If we were you, we would quit now.
I beat co-op last night. My partner and I found a few shortcuts only because we couldn't figure out how to do some of the puzzles normally. I'll try to get them uploaded this weekend.

Same here, a couple puzzles my partner and I entered the elevator going "This is totally wrong, but at least we got past it"

If the crouch flying glitch works in co-op, I believe there are a couple of maps where it could be used to our advantage, iirc.
here's a probably fairly obvious, but sweet nonetheless one:

Saves 45 seconds.

Quote from Paraxade:
Ok, here's a video of some Chapter 6 stuff (including the trick I mentioned earlier).

-The first trick lets you get into one of the test chambers without hitting the triggers you're supposed to go through on the way up. This lets you get yourself permanently stuck inside since you skip the trigger that starts the gel and water, which makes the test unsolvable, plus you can vaporize the cube.
-Second one lets you get on top of the rafters in the same test chamber. Useless. You can't go higher and skip the puzzle entirely because there's an invisible wall over the top.
-The third clip shows how to skip basically the entire last map of the chapter.

That last skip does not work. That wall cannot accept portals until you hit the pump switches. Going back down after hitting the switches will of course let you portal the wall, but unless things have changed since I played it that won't work since I tried that very skip. Turn on noclip and fly up there yourself from the beginning of the elvel to confirm.

A nice large one allows you to skip right to the huge elevator right after you go through the huge door for the first time in chapter6. Instead of going to the room where you have to fling through the aperture logo, place a portal behind the light on the wall in the room with the huge elevator. Standing through it, you can see a peek of the portalable surface at the bottom of the elevator. Place a portal there, and go through it. The bottom is not solid so you'll land right on the elevator.

blah, you're right. :/ I never bothered trying it from the beginning of the level, my save was near the end. I just assumed it would work. Ah well, I guess.

There is one other trick I forgot to mention on chapter 6; on the first map (disregarding the "falling" map) if you stand in this spot after the third portal surface, you can shoot a portal up and skip a decent chunk of the level.
Chapter 2, Chamber 8 skip
I'm a horrible speedrunner, and i just finished singleplayer in 2 hours and 5 minutes, without skips or even bunnyhopping, so i'm incredibly stoked to see what the pro's will do with this using segments and input scripts (if those are still allowed). Some of the tricks found already look really promising!
Good news, crouch-flying doesn't just work on roof-buttons. I haven't really tried to get it working on flat sides however if it works with this, it should work on everything...it just takes a little more fiddling around to get it working.

Well this isn't really a glitch but it could save 2 seconds every here and there

All you have to do is hit space right before throwing the cube and it can go much higher.
Not a Zelda 2 refrence

@Daniel that's how I beat it the first time, I wondered why that level had a cube

Yeah, kind of obvious one, after i got the cube it looked like you could just turn-jump past the wall instead of getting the box. Alot of people probaly noticed it already but i made the video for those who didn't.
Nevertheless, it's good to cover all shortcuts, common or uncommon.

Woah, excellent!

Nice one! I tried doing that myself before I read your post and failed soooo yeah, cool! Your trick looks quite handy too bl00d. Smiley

And thank you adzicents for capturing my demos.

Haha wow, you don't even need a ceiling for crouch flying. I just did it on Wheatley's test chamber 3. The way I did it was put a portal on the excursion funnel, but not directly on center - off to the side so only part of the portal is on the funnel. Then you walk through the other portal, crouch, start hitting jump, and then manage to get out and start floating around.
Good Game
People finds a flying trick few hours after release.
I do stuff
I'm personally down to one last achievement (Course 4 in co-op with 0 deaths) and once I've done that I want to do sort of a personal speedrun just to see how quickly I can beat the single player.  I won't be using any glitches (just cause thats how i wanna do it), but once I've done it I'll let you guys know what my time was.  I'm hoping for under 90min.

yes! we're flying~
this game's getting destroyed pretty quickly

@RCW: if someone wanted to submit a run to SDA, it wouldn't be allowed to use scripts anymore. However, if there's a bhop (haven't messed around with that stuff yet to see) then I'm sure it won't be too bad to get down.

I haven't finished all the co-op stages yet, but I could see this trick being useful in that mode.

What?
Found a little time-saver on chapter 6 (level 2?) - a way to get to the lift early. Not sure if it is known or not already though.
You can Bhop in this game... although, it's very butchered. I use it in my video posted at the previous page and it's useful in a lot of places but the speed you can obtain with it is quite low, unless you're of course hopping down a slope or any platform. You should be fine by binding the your jump hotkey to the mousewheel if you have any trouble timing it.
I do stuff
I decided to see how far i could get before i have to leave for class.

Chapter 1: Just under 18min
This is the one with all the talking from wheatley and Glados and you dont get the 2 way portal gun till right at the end.  So other than still having the "Oh crap, how was this one done again?" moments, I'd be curious how this chapter could be done much quicker with only having one portal to shoot.

Chapter 2: Just under 10min
This chapter went quicker because of course you have both guns and there's no cut scenes.

be back later <3

Yeah, it is known already but it's nice to have a video of it!

There's plenty of uses for the shooting portals through portals technique again. But I'm mostly interested in doing a co-op speedrun. Perhaps it's an idea for everyone interested in doing trick-finding co-op runs to post their steam accounts here so we can all friend invite each other. I'm gonna post mine anyway: Scepheo (surprise). Anyone interested in finding tricks for co-op is welcome to add me as a friend.
i found a way to skip the gamma pump station.

Very nice find!

I improved Parax's shortcut at sp_a3_01 by a little bit, you can shoot a portal from here already.

Alright, I thought it would be a good idea to list all the people interested in speedrunnin' co-op:
