What's up with all the restarts at the beginning of the vid? I see why you restarted but those didn't need to be included did they? The first 10 minutes is just restarting.

The run officially starts at 9:12, but Nate said he was going to fix that. I.E. re-encode everything. It was a hole that apparently everyone down the line forgot to fix, from me not being told to tell them when the run officially starts, me not telling them, the verifiers not telling them, and nate not knowing.
You should explain what "Elite 4 round 2" actually means, because it isn't self-explaining.
Ditto. I have no idea, but I didn't want to be the guy who openly admitted he didn't know. >_>;
I guess I shouldn't have made the assumption that everyone knew. I'm going to make sure this gets added to the game page somehow, but for now, here are the criteria for unlocking it, and what it is:
-Complete the island side quest with Bill from cinnibar island (islands 1-3)
-Beat all 8 gyms and the elite 4 (just like the first run I did)
-Collect 60 pokedex entries (meaning catches, free pokemon, and evolutions) to unlock the national pokedex (which outside of speedrunning allows you to find some Ruby and Sapphire pokemon in the game, and evolve your Golbat into Crobat, etc.) This pokedex is only available after beating the elite 4. Since you are warped back home after the forced save and quit after beating the elite 4, and then approached by professor oak, who gives you the national dex anyway, I opted to collect them as I went and have all 60 upon completion of the first round of the elite 4.
-Complete the island side quest obtaining the Ruby and the Sapphire to unlock trading capabilities between said games. (Islands 1-6)
-Rechallenge the elite 4, who now have higher leveled pokemon, and some of them are different (such as bruno has evolved his Onixes into Steelixes)
Forgot to post sooner, but no reason why I can't still. I liked this run partly due to the "nature" of it, I don't know of any other runs with a similar goal, if thats the right word. Putting the fighting aside, and just looking at the very important 60 pokemon requirement. It's like making a 100% route in some ways, however in a 100% the things you have to collect are allways the same, and often little luck is involved. These 60 pokemon you need to plan for, when making the route one has the freedom to switch out pokemon. At first you would think it makes things eaiser, but really it just means another level of optimization you really don't see in 100% runs is expected along with everything else.
And due to the long SS nature of the route, revisions have to be made to take advantage of situations as they come along and work around bad luck. This would have to be done in real time, along with memorizing branches in the route for different things working / not working, all of which requires a very extensive understanding of the game...
So the runner went biking in the wrong direction for a few seconds and paniced a bit. This was not a route focused largely on memorization like most runs, or at least thats what I think for now. I could be exaggerating the things above, but the basic point remains clear? Oh yeah an awesome run, the game's been done justice.
