On the MMX8 page it's written with capital D's, so I guess that should also be done here.

Quote:
The most popular game to speed run remains Quake, where this site was born.

In this sentence, "where" refers to quake.  But quake is not a place, even if the word itself in this sentence is a link to where this sentence refers to, i.e. our quake section.  This becomes clearer if we change the sentence to "The game remains quake, where this was born."  So, either the subject of the first clause has to be the quake site or the second clause has to refer to the game quake.

demo.pl is correct.

I'm not sure about "Gears" (The extra "s") so I'll just point it out.
I think "The" should be written with a lowercase "t", again I'm not sure.

Can someone fix a typo in the comments of my Ninja Gaiden III run?  A bullet point needs to be deleted, the one that is in front of the second paragraph of the "Stage Three" section.

Thanks to whomever fixed the typo in my other comments.

1:26:55- I need to be Level 13 to uncurse Fin Raziel. This also powers up the Cane, making it possible to defeat Bavmorda. Although, in a non-speedrunning context, it's fun to come here before reaching Level 13 and just turn her from animal to animal. But is this SPEED Demos Archive, not USELESS FUN STUFF IN GAMES Demos Archive, so you'll have to test that on your own time.

Switch the words in bold.

This was my e-mail signature, not part of the run comments (I guess I didn't make that clear enough). Get rid of it.

Thanks!

I would argue that the second one wasn't my fault (The first one, yes, I didn't proofread well enough, so I'm willing to live with it). Sad

Oh well.

author request for comment corrections certainly dont belong in a topic making fun of sda staff's typos.
Yes, a cucco riding the ground.

The purpose of this topic is hardly to make fun of errors. You can't say that fixing typos isn't good for the site.
radix is apparently not a fan of things that start small in focus and grow with no end in sight -- and here i thought i was the one who feared those most of all! oh, the irony!

my policy (and it is only my policy, not radix or anyone else's) is that I am prepared to fix other people's mistakes but am not prepared to make a habit of it or treat it as any sort of a priority. Also this only applies when I have nothing better to do, which right now is patently not the case.

I will look into the unfixed stuff in this topic when the mood takes me, which is unlikely to occur imminently.

Just noticed somheting from the news page..

Quote:
Spanning 85 segments, with a run time of over eight and a half hours, and a normal quality DivX encode of roughly 2 gigabytes in size, Andrew's run has been listed as 7:41

It says 8 and and half hour. Isnt it more like seven and a half hour?

That's the avi/mp4 run time.
Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
Perhaps it should say "video time."

don't feel like changing it, but I'll try to come up with a less confusing expression in the future. probably "video length" or something.

Hi! I'm andrewg!
super smash bros. melee is not listed when you the "run time" list. there is a completion of very easy, maybe it's not on the list because of that?
This isn't so much a typo as it is misinformation.

For the description of Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, it mentions that you can "dodge every attack in the game except for Bob-ombs blowing up."

Actually, you can dodge Bob-omb attacks by swinging your hammer as they charge at you (but before they are within hammer range).  They trip up and walk back to their position.

Or does the description refer to the timer-bombs present in the last 3 koopaling fights?  I don't really consider those to be enemies -- you can't even target them.

The Donkey Kong Country time is still at 0:50 and the DKC2 time is listed as 0:32. The DKC run should be 0:32 and the DKC2 time should be listed as 0:56 on the game list page.
guffaw
whoops.

I found something wrong on the forum index: the Tech Support forum's most recent time is listed wrong. It is actually listed as the first stickied topic's last updated time.
That's what happens when posts are deleted. Some idiot was spamming the boards last night.
