I would like to relive my first StarCraft moment. I remember when it was actually fun to build a forge.

Come on Pocari, it is STILL fun to build a forge.  You just have to build it and some cannons in a hidden spot in your opponents base  Grin

Now back on topic, there are so many games to choose from.

Starcraft and Broodwar are great, Halo, Civ 1 & 2, Kotor, the original LoZ...

The list could go on but I don't think that is a bad start.

Well, besides the obvious Super Mario Bros, which was the best thing in the entire universe at the time, I would have to say System Shock 2, the one and only game that has ever actually scared me.

A close second would be Baldur's Gate 1. I was completely mezmerized by it and was absolutely drawn into it. Good times. Smiley

Yeah, these two games also popped into my mind at first.

However, I'd choose Baldur's Gate 1 over System Shock 2.
Quake 2: Weapons Factory. I spent 3 years playing this online mod. I still miss it to this day.  Cry
Rock on, Earthbound. Rock on.
Super Mario 64.  And this time I won't cheat and look at a guide in advance.  I was young, I didn't know what I was missing.  >_<

In the future, they'll make games that erase the experience from your mind when you want it to.  Similarly, they'll be able to save your memories from the last time you saved, so you'll never have to figure out where you need to go next after a long break.  >_<
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!

but then they wont make any money, because if you can play the old games over and over again, without losing the fun at it, you dont have to buy new games!

Kotor because of the story, Morrowind because I would like to have a game in which I didn't get the second best armor in the game lvl 1, Starfox for the Snes so I don't remember Wired beating it (slimy piece of...) and that's it

Halo 1
Super Mario 3
Doom 2

Remembering the days when games sucked me in. The days when games would draw me in for hours and games I could just randomly rent at the store and find awesome. I can still remember when my dad brougth doom 2 home from work, the computer guy at his work gave it to him for my family. LOL, my dad prolly had no idea what doom was. I was prolly 7 or 8 at the time.

I did that.

Years later, I regretted it. I wished I'd found everything myself.

Now... I don't regret it. I wasn't much good at games back then. If I hadn't read the guides, I might not have enjoyed the game as much as I did. I might not have played it for as long. And I wouldn't have enjoyed reading the guides while anticipating finding a store that had an N64 (I didn't get one 'til several days after Christmas, 'cause we couldn't find any stores that had one).

Really, there are so many games I haven't played yet. I don't need to forget one I've already played in order to have something new and enjoyable. And even if there weren't any new games, there are so many other things... books to read, music to hear, origami to fold, puzzles to solve, science to learn, history to research, math to comprehend, movies to watch... and beyond all that, the creation of new things. I don't need to forget the past - I have future aplenty!
Maybe you read too much into this...just sayin'.
XXY
I found absolutely everything in that game myself (seriously). A feat I'm rather proud of ::). A game I didn't do that for however was Half-Life. I never knew how to beat Nihilanth until I saw -think.circle-'s video. God damn <_<;

Well! I can't help but answer what I think, and I can't shut parts of myself off to get a different answer. And even if I could, I wouldn't. If I seriously ponder what other people find to be passing amusement, that's just who I am.

Umm.....yeah... ._.

Another game I wouldn't mind playing for the first time (again) would be Majora's Mask. Gah..I remember playing it for hours at a time, thinking it was the coolest game I had ever played. Maybe it was the surreal element...but whatev. It will always own in my heart. ;-;

Strangeness style P.S. - Starfox was easy. >_>

Don't worry, I agree with what you said 100%.

Except I don't fold origami. Wink
Well I didn't mean to insult anyone, but here we are...

...sorry.
I agree with Prince, pomegranates suck.
well i think anyone who played any zelda game, would love to go back to when they first played it. Links awakening was a special one for me and ofcourse so was OoT.

Yoshi's Island, ahhhh the memories. my first game on my snes and i got it on my birthday, i can almost TASTE the first time i played it.....(dont ask). yoshi's story didn''t really do it for me though, it just wasn't the same.

Golden sun 1 and 2. I know not the best rpg's in the world and a few people dont like them, but when i first played them a few years ago i was mesmorized. i didn't want it to finish..... and it didn't, and they STILL havn't released a sequal! (DAM YOU CAMELOT!! WHAT COULD BE MORE IMPORTANT???)

sorry, nostalgia overhaul.

i wanna go and play chrono trigger, besause thats something i missed out on and ive heard so much about it.
PwNzRd!
Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2. I remember when I first got that; I couldn't get enough of it. Ahh... the memories! Smiley

Good ol MM, quite an easy game as I beat Majora on my first try (when you had the Fierce Deity mask and let me play :P)

Majora's Mask was the first Zelda game I've ever played.  It was unbearably awesome, I just couldn't stop thinking of the game when I first played it at my friend's house.  After thinking about this for a while, it's a toss up between MM, FFVIII (my first FF), and FFX.  It's too hard to pick.

Yes, I would quite like to relive all the plot twists in Final Fantasy 7 and 9. The only Zelda game I played whilst younger was the platformer one, and I wasn't very impressed. I was more into the Sonic games back then, but they have great replay value anyway... argh! Also, I don't know if it's just me, but I didn't find Super Mario 64 that much fun... mission-based platforming is okay, but being kicked out every time you finish a star? Spyro 2: Ripto's Revenge handled this way better (though it is of course a later game).

Back on track. Sometimes I'd like to forget everything about Quake so I can find the secrets again. Smiley
Rock on, Earthbound. Rock on.

Spyro = Platformer Lite.  That's just my opinion, but I'm sticking to it.

And the thing about Mario 64 wasn't really being ejected or whatnot, it was the simple fact that the game's movement was SO well done.  Mario's jump library was PERFECT.  And apart from the N64 itself having a loose joystick, the controls were spot on as well (this one will be nice to play on the Revolution's virtual console with the GC controller.  I maintain the GC has the best joystick out of all the current systems, 360 included.  ^_^)  Add to that that the levels were so astounding and fresh because nothing like it had ever been done before, and the fact that a bunch of them are STILL awesome to this day.  Off the top of my head, the atmosphere in Jolly Roger Bay, Bob-Omb Battlefield and the castle hub, Tick Tock Clock and that one sky level whose name oddly escapes me at the moment.  I don't care if you hated those levels with a passion, you must admit that they're still cool, if for nothing else than the concept and the vision behind them.  Yeah, Mario 64 is the game I would most like to play again for the first time.

Speaking of which, Strangeness, you have a point.  I've beaten Mario 64 so many times now, I have most of the stars permanently memorized.  If I hadn't read the guides, I probably wouldn't have spent as much time figuring out cool new ways to do things, or messing around with the jumps to see just what was possible.

"What's done is done, and it was done for the best.  I have no further apologies to make on this matter."

The GC joystick gets as loose as the N64's almost as quickly.  You probably haven't played enough.  The best one is the PS2's controller.  After 3 years of having it and countless Lulu's Overdrives, the joystick is almost as if it were still new.

Only problem is, the PS2 controller sucks, loose sticks or not... ~_^

Some of my Cube controllers are getting a bit loose, but not badly. I've had them a long time and have played a good bit of SSBM over the years. For the N64, I bought a replacement stick for $5 a year or two back, and I haven't had any problems since. It'd be nice if they could work perfectly forever, but I don't mind the current situation much.

How does the PS2 controller suck, it's my favorite!  I mean, plenty of buttons for a wide variety of games.  They're well placed, I was really surprised how they fit so much while not mashing everything together.  Pressure sensitive controlls, buttons that respond quick (unlike GC's awful, unresponsive shoulder buttons, retardedly oversized a button, and small z and b buttons).  What's not to like?

Edit:  If the N64 didn't get loose joysticks, it would be my favorite.
welcome to the machine
The left stick on the ps2 controller should be placed where the d-pad is.  My thumb loathes it. :/
