Well, besides the obvious Super Mario Bros, which was the best thing in the entire universe at the time, I would have to say System Shock 2, the one and only game that has ever actually scared me.

A close second would be Baldur's Gate 1. I was completely mezmerized by it and was absolutely drawn into it. Good times. Smiley
Final Fantasy 6.
Yeah, I said it.
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
Speed is the key.
Diablo II.
I agree with TSA. I can't imagine me forget Zeldastuff either ;D.
Oh I give up...
Haha. Well. I want to forget Link's Awakening then.
PwNzRd!
For me, it would be Grim Fandango. Because it was so much fun to figure out the puzzles the first time around, but now that I know them, not so much. That and the dialogue, how I wish I could re-hear the dialogue for the first time.
DMC3,ZOE2 and Xenosaga 2. Am I crazy?
MGS3. I ruined the story via internet. I hope I wouldn`t have read anything about it...
everybody wanna tell you the meaning of music
The answer would have to be something where the ratio of how fun it was to play originally to how fun it is to play now is particularly high. This would suggest a puzzle game. So I'm thinking something by LucasArts or maybe Ico.
the first time i played both hl1 and 2 was like omg !! that is so good Shocked

First time in Golden Eye of N64 was crazy too

the wrost first time is for metroid nes. i was like WTF' WHAT I DO AHHHHHHH !!!!
welcome to the machine
Super Metroid.

Super Metroid.

i jsut palyed it for the "real" first time

i had already started it when iw as young but i didnt even got the super missile Tongue
Nifty.
Silent Hill 2. To be able to go through the game again and not know what James was going to remember...that would be mine.
Mario 64.

It was just an amazing experience that first time through. Granted, part of it was because I just got off the SNES, but still.

Strangely enough, I hated my first experience with Mario 64. I played it at a Wal-Mart and was so over whelmed with Bob-Omb BattleField and I had no clue what to do and thought the game was stupid. Then I rented it and it was incredible.
Yeah, I wouldn't mind experiencing Mario 64 for the first time again.

That reminds me of the time I beat super mario world at a wal-mart and wowed a bunch of kids that were watching.

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.
The game still feels like a dream when I play it.
Also the classic Sonic games and Kirby Superstar.

I am playing this game for the first time...true love, from the first level. I don't especially like the other 2-D Mario games, which is why it took me so long to play it in the first place. Nothing wrong with them, just aren't my favorite.

Ooh ooh, I have a few other games. The first one being NHL 1999, or 1996, I can't remember which one it was. I was so amazingly good at it. My older brother finally let me play it when I was a kid, and it was awesome. I found this strange glitch in which I could score goals in 2 seconds, which inturn devestated my opponents. That was of course until he stuck his foot into my face, or gave me the mouse as my controls.

Another game would be Hi-Octane, a game I haven't played in years. Best racing game ever. Hopefully I'll be able to secure a copy and do a run of it later (see sig ^_^)

Red Alert, because it's just such an amazing game, and it was incredible playing it for the first time.

Not-Counter-Strike. No good memories come from the first time experience. Later on when I became fucking good at it, I would like to have those back Sad (I miss you de_rats)

Last game would be Super Smash Bros. for the N64. I find new and inventive tricks to do everyday with my clan in the game, which makes it one of my favorite of all time. It makes it difficult to say I'd like the first time experience back, because this game feels brand new every time I play it (seriously, for those of you who have it, load it up, turn on all bumpers and do a free for all with level 3 computers). The first time experience from what I can remember would be great to have again though Tongue
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
Definitely King's Quest VI. It would rock to be able to play through it again without having the entire game memorized.
PwNzRd!
Ah, Mario 64, how I miss the times me and my friend would go over to Blockbuster and play for hours on end when it first came out. We would rent videos there just to play it with no limit, and use the game guide they sold to get every star. Ah, such sweet memories! Grin
MGS for PS1 forever.
3 words. Metal Gear Solid.
Mario 64... my first fully 3D game.
And Tales of Phantasia.. I had played some other mostly-boring RPGs until that.
And Donkey Kong Country, that game was a darn good platformer for its time.

(i.e. all the games I'd consider TAS'ing)

I feel this way, and I know a lot of other people who also feel this way, but never have I been more wow'd playing a game than Tales of Phantasia. I can't really explain it, because other choices (like say Super Mario World) seem like they should have been more wow'ing, but it's not even close.
I'd kill for a nobel peace prize...
Myst, Riven, and Exile are my choices. Their replay value is kind of null considering I now know the solutions to the puzzles.

Oh well I guess theres always Revelation..... and Not Pr0n Tongue ....
