Does anybody know any tricks that might help me out?  It might be nice to have a good idea of shortcuts I can use.

Well, it isn't much, but you could try using my strategy for the Boss of the Aquatic Ruin - stay on one side as much as possible and hit him more than once each time to defeat him faster.

I'd be amazed if anyone could defeat the Eggsterminator (the official SEGA name for the final Boss) in one go, having not died earlier in the game either.

I use the trick the nesvideo movie uses for defeating the Aquatic Ruin boss.  All I need to do is stand on one of the pillars and constantly hit him from there.

As for the final boss, I used to be able to pwn that [censored] in no time flat.  Not as fast as a speedrunner should be able to do, but still pretty fast.  Now I just suck at it.  I always die.  X_x;
