everybody wanna tell you the meaning of music

You can't just link from your hard drive, you have to upload your picture first. Imageshack is a popular and easy site for this. Then click on insert image above the smileys, then put the http link to your picture between the brackets. You can hit quote on someone else's post to look at how it's done.

The original forum software we had was called yabb (1g - sp1 is a version number), so that was the default message. I don't think there's a default message anymore, but it's better that way, plus most people just change it anyway.

My first post was the new F-Zero X thread...might as well introduce myself.

I'm pingosimon. I mainly hang around theshizz.org, home of the minibosses message board.

I like Nintendo system, and also Final Fantasies, Castlevanias, Starcraft, and DotA.

I also like music...especially video game music! I play in a few bands, including a soon to be complete video game cover band, and I record stuff on my own.

I'm not good enough at any game to speedrun, but I've been watching SDA runs casually for a couple years now.

General Kong - Bullets and Bananas

Trying to make this work here -

This is part of my older boys' room I painted in Mario Baseball.

And, of course, Donkey Kong.

Walls not shown have Bowser and Bowser Jr., and a piranha plant getting ready to eat a fly ball.

The boys' bathroom is in old school Mario water level design.

Complete with multiple cheep cheeps and bloopers.

The baby's room is done in the Blue Bomber.

Mega Man and Proto Man watch the crib. Grin

Because the Master Robots are there too.

Rush is next to Proto Man.

At the old house, the baby's room was in Yoshi's Island.

Mario grabs a star to go save Luigi.

There's a Bob-omb and Spiny around the corners.

I thought I'd add that picture of me with a beard and some more background info. I'll start with my username.

I used to play magic and yu-gi-oh in tournaments years ago (in retrospect, a lot of fun, but a huge waste of money) so I made the username from a favourite card of mine from each game. Troll Ascetic (MTG) and Neo the Magic Swordsman (yu-gi-oh) This is the first message board I've ever joined because thinking of a good username is hard for me. That's one of the reason's I dont play MMOs. By the time you think of a great original name for yourself it's taken, and you have to change it to something totally different.

Anyway I considered Troll Swordsman, but troll has a negative connotation on message boards. I'm thinking of dropping the ascetic part since it's more of an adjective. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ascetic It doesn't even describe me that well, except I don't drink alcohol, caffeine or smoke.

I did find out in high school that in latin my first name is Galfridus. I've always wondered if Galfridus The Swordsman would be a good nickname.

What do you think of when you hear that name? I think he'd be something of a red mage from final fantasy. Or a magic swordsman like in FFV. He wouldn't be the hero, but a well balanced character with no really high or low points. He can do a bit of everything, but the specialists all do it much better. I could say more, but I'm not sure anyone's interested.

Wow, I wish I was never on the internet until I was 16 (not that I'm implying that you weren't) so I could've had this mentality towards creating my online alias. Mine is the result of my then-14-year-old mentality of wanting to sound cool and 1337 and chose to be victim of that dumb marketing trend from the early 2000's and have X-like sounds (Xyphox, Xentrhox, [other dumb X name], etc.) like a lot of the fags at XC[1], hence tri-hex. Unfortunately, it stuck after about a year, and then I joined here in 2005 care-free without considering the opportunity to choose a better, more suiting alias. >_>;

[1] XC - Xero Creative*, the forum I attended regularly before making SDA the main, and eventually, only one in 2005. The forum was mostly known for its admin, MykeXero*, who created YVD, Yu-gi-oh Virtual Desktop, the program that best simulated playing Yu-Gi-Oh online at the time, distributed it online for free.

*Also victims of the X-sounds-in-name trend.

This is just to prove I have no shame. I took a picture of my cat, teddy bear, blanket and pillow. Two of them are as old as I am. I'm not embarrassed about it at all. Next I should take a picture of my pokemon diamond and pearl lanyard and shroomish in a pokeball keychain. Anyone who saw me when I worked at ebgames know's what it is.
