I run this here hotel of an evening
as the title states, this would be a perfect dark run. i'm wondering what sort of runs and rules there would be, and mainly, would anyone be interested in seeing one? i've got someone here who is a "nazi" at it.
Thread title:

so, does that mean that none shall be posted here on SDA?
I gave the link so you could see the current world records.

I know it's dangerous to speak for others, but im pretty sure about this:

- that link is indeed the most active/up-to-date/used/etc website for PD (and GE), so why host movies on 2 places

- if you're looking for a PerfectDark speedrun on the full game, you won't find it here because all speedrunners (from that website) use a glitch in the 1st lvl (dataDyne) that takes the player outside the game-boundaries (through walls). While this glitch takes off a huge amount of time (a minute?), Radix doesn't allow it over here.... but im sure such a run *is*  available on the linked website anyway
like cranky kong, but not as nice

I'd definitely like to see a run on this game. Although I mostly play it for the Multiplayer, a run like this would be very interesting to watch, depending on which difficulty it is done on.
I'd definitely watch a run of this.

That's interesting. What about a run here covering the whole game in one video, like the GoldenEye run, but disallows the dD glitch? I'm sure that would be allowed ...

(a minute?)

The glitch saves different times for each difficulty. On Agent it saves around 40sec, on Perfect Agent it saves several minutes.
the old world record on PA was either 2:15 or 2:16, so the glitch saves about 50 seconds or so.  A single segment run on PA would be interesting for sure though.  Infiltration, and Attack Ship would both be evil to you,  but go for it, I'm sure the run would be allowed if you skipped the glitch.
yes, a man carrying a gimp

Radix refused the original run because of the glitch, so it would definitely be accepted without it.

Wow. Without the glitch, my best time is around 10min for that level. I tend to take it steady, or die via rushing. I'm curious as to how a 2:16 PA Defection would work without the glitch. I guess I won't be running this anytime soon, without even taking into account what runs I am already working on. Wink

Speaking of which, now we have sorted out what's allowed, is anyone thinking of actually running PD?
I wanted to try before, but god damn I s*ck  Tongue well to speedrun, not to accomplish  ;D. Plus my cards is laggy, so it would be awful to watch.
Yes, a bunny riding a towel
no glitch wrs with video: 33/43/216
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
I was thinking just the other day, as I looked up Wouter's Goldeneye run, that I'd love to see a PD one.
I've seen level runs, but a whole game run would be good Smiley

2nd file from the bottom. Please right click and save, or it may crash your browser.

The video itself is performed by me. I got all the way from Defection to Ruins on Perfect Agent, then died. No one else has gotten close.

It has colour, original sound, etc.

Sure, since the game is pretty tough, depending on which difficulty you play on, obviously you'd want to go with the most difficult in a speed-run, but that is up to the choice of the runner.
Perfect Agent is not that hard. Well in SpeedRun, yes, but in normal fashion, not really.
Take This! Ultra Frisbee-Disk Attack!
Obviously, because that makes it all the more difficult to complete under the time constraints and limits/goals you have set for yourself in advance to complete a speedrun on Perfect Agent. You just have to make it a lot easier with the memorization of levels, enemies, and the quickest way to complete the missions of every single level.
