Hi there. I posted the same topic on m2k2. I'd like to know about about a speed run of super metroid on PAL version being accepted
I've been speed running the PAL version now very intensely for the past 2 and a bit years. Watching Hotarubi's runs at the same time and reaching what i like to think is that same leval of consistancy as him.
A while back i done two tool-assisted runs on emulator. One on PAL and the other NTSC. I took the same route on both ( the usual fast route) utilising the same strategies in all rooms (apart from the obvious rooms you cant do the same like the first lava rising room in norfair) and made to look like a human playing at the top of their game. The NTSC version got 29 minutes completion time. PAL was 32 minutes. of course thats a 3 minute time differance between the two version when taking the same route and playing at the top of your game.
So i was thinking if Hotarubi done his crazy 31 minute run, then an equivelant time on PAL would undoubtedly be 34. I've got 35 minutes on three occassions and i'm so close to 34. I've got a dvd recorder and re-writable discs. I'm all set to record the run of my life. All i need is just some verification that such a run would be accepted.
33 minutes on PAL would be the same as Hotarubi getting 30 minutes on NTSC. Not many people believe anyone can do it ( tell you the truth i wouldn't be surprised if he managed it) considering many believe his 31 is a high 31.
All i need is some encouragement. Thank you anybody for reading this.
