Does anyone here know what the native resolution is for PAL 60? My capture card only seems to want to record it in 720x480 (seems to mix up both PAL and NTSC dimensions). Should I be able to record in 720x576 with PAl 60?

Here's a test sample of my PAL 60 recording:

pal 60 is 480 visible lines. so 640x480 should do the trick.

actually pal 60 is just ntsc with pal color (also means it runs at 60 half frames a second instead of 59.94 afaik).

So should PAL 60 be 720 or 640 horizontal lines? This card doesn't seem to offer me a choice, so I'm just trying to make sure it's not faulty.
well, usually you capture in 720, then resize later to 640 to get the aspect ratio right. dvds store stuff as 720 too, and actually 720x480 is true "d1", even though i'll talk about d1 being 640x480 (corrected 4:3 aspect ratio) or 704x576 in pal when it's actually 720x576. the truth is that the game you're capturing is probably only running in 640x480 anyway, so there's no point to keeping that extra resolution unless you're going straight to dvd or something.

Ah ok, well it IS going onto DVD, so I might as well leave the dimensions as they are then. Thanks for the help. Cheesy
