Okay, I redid the first three bosslevels. I used triplehaste/dexterity/rage card combination and the game timer went wild. The videotimes are however pretty much the same as before, but the game timer is the only timer that matters to me Grin

Would you please compress them or rerecord (from the existing ones, of course=}) in lower quality?
PK is my second best-loved game, I'd like to see your videos.

Eeek, doesn't cutting out mid-level saves amount to cheating though? I mean, it's not that far removed from using save states. It'd look a lot more impressive if you could say; "I did the whole thing without saving." I hope this doesn't break any SDA rules Sad

Videos are coming along really well. Can't wait to see the finished run!

Mid-level saves, as long as they are a normal part of playing (in the majority of computer games, they are), are perfectly allowed, to my knowledge. I'd suggest appending from the end of the actual save action to just before the re-loading of the save (I think parts of the Tomb Raider 1 run and Nate's segmented AvP Alien run are like what I'm trying to describe), though, so that it's more clear where the in-level segmenting happens.

I haven't had the chance to view most of this yet, but keep it up.

OK, now it's....done Smiley

C5L3 was done multisegmented because of the difficult jumps. I tried to do it in one single try but I got frustrated when I went down to bottom for 100 times. I hope that's ok for you. I'll upload the video for you but now I'll go to sleep. Tongue

Congratulations! I've downloaded just about every video you've posted and I've been immensely entertained with every level. Maybe it's my bizaare and twisted cravings for mayhem and violence, but I can not wait to view the run in its entiredy. Entiredness. Entirely. I dunno.

Verification is a mandatory part of the process of getting a run submitted on the site. Radix will choose someone to verify the run when he receives it. Contact him (Look at the submission page for details) and he'll tell you what you need to do. I think you may have to make a set of lower quality videos though (The usual HQ video here is 640x480, Normal and Low about 320x240 I think). Contact Radix though.

Why not just submit both? They are, essentially, a 100% and a low% for the game.

Also, are you going to be running BooH as well?

I finished BooH on trauma difficulty yesterday and it's like 50/50 am I doing a run from it. It has some crazy shortcuts, especially the loony park. It's possible to finish it with ZERO KILLS. If I get that working then it's a yes. Also I'll be improving the snowy bridge level, there is even a faster shortcut after the trainride Smiley

Okay, C2L4 the snowy bridge improved greatly from 9:51/8:20 to 8:20/6:50. I'm uploading the video as I'm writing this. The shortcut made it's job but maybe my aiming and bunnyhopping have also improved so I can do better times now. Grin

Okay final run with Snowy bridge ;D, there was still one shortcut i had missed. So the times went down nicely to 4:37/4:18 :). I also improved C4L1 with little shortcut from 4:43/3:17 to 4:14/3:01 Smiley

Am I ever gonna get this finished, who knows....

I am a big fan of PK and was very happy to hear that this site contains PK.

But since you are not from the official PK community, i suggest to read kalme's post about what are the needs for the true speed run in painkiller:

Our opinion does not differ from kalme's, only that i think nightmare mode is also good for speed runing, but tarot cards - no way.
Also what you said about saving the game in the middle of it is nonsence too - think about it guys.
What a speed run would be if saving a game?
That's why kalme suggested trauma.
You will say that C5 is not available on trauma, but kalme made a mod which allows to play trauma in C5.
He also made a mod, that enables autosaves in trauma.

So, i think you should agree with kalme and our community...

Have you made boss time attacks on trauma without cards and cheats? I wonder what are your times?
I am looking ff for your speed runs without tarot!

I'll do some timeattacs on those bosses but first I'll do it on nightmare. And I'll do many thing better in many levels before this thing is finished. I'll try to get this run to a point where it satisfyes me, first on nightmare and then I'll focus on trauma.
And I know about kalme's mod, it was just that I discovered it while I was recording chapter 4 already so I though I'll finish this run first. My PK version is 1.64 btw.

Snowy bridge in 4:37 without tarot should be uploaded in the morning, let's say that's my first non tarot run that I made with meaning Grin

Btw, 1.64 has a good working demofunction.

When you will begin to record videos on trauma mode, use painkillergame to record your stuff.

In the directory of Painkiller create a folder named Recordings.

After launching Painkiller in the console write:
/demorecord "speedrun"

If you wish to stop it, type:
/demostop

If you wish to see it, type:
/demoplay "speedrun"

You know that?

Demorecords spare MB, what is important for uploads!

I have never been good with those console commands so I thought that fraps is eaisest way to record this. Even though it eats harddrive like hell. Just made a 6:55 non tarot video on cathedral and size is 3.12gb :E

And with demo record - no lag!
Use 640/480 resolution to record!

final version is 114mb with the quality you have propably allready seen. I just meant that recording with fraps fills HD quickly and you have to remeber delete the failed attempts so you don't get HD full suprise when you're doing the perfect finished thing and are 30 seconds from ending... Happened few times Angry

Talk with Radix first if in-game demo recording will be accepted, it is not always accepted to use the demo recording tool within a game because many things are often not recordable with them.

Painkiller demo works, and i don't understand why must i ask permission?
If there would be a relay good recording program...

I don't know why Radix doesn't accept demo files from all games. I have got one of my runs rejected because it was done that way, so I would suggest to ask first and do later.

Tested demorecording and YES SIR it's a yes. No more slow fps and lags. Gotta test that CoW shortcut with this. And now I can put high detail graphics back on. If demofiles wouldn't be accepted, would it be possible if i record a demo, play it, and then record it with fraps to an .avi file. I mean, it's just so much easier to play when fps is 85-110 not 25-45 :-/

I mean - the files will be hosted either in www.filrfront.com or in www.rapidshare.de or in www.filefactory.com - that means not in this site, so it is not admin's buisness! ???>:(

I would ask admin's permission if he had a data base storeage for files, but since this site is only for links, not for uploads, it should not be his interest.

If your admin will not allow to LINK (not host) demofiles, we in DC can make our own challnege that will be confirmed by DC if what...
