For some reason ground stomping on the edge there moves you forward a bit everytime, so just stomping while holding the climb button auto snaps you to the edge without dying.
These are a lot of stuff that relay on climb. I wonder if not needing it will actually be slower. Guess we'll only find out after the fix.

In any case the Doc is constantly being updated with everything you guys are finding.

It'll be really great if you can update whatever you find yourself so that others won't have to do it for you.

Lets see who's the first to get sub 1h!
So I didn't see this anywhere, and I was using it for quite some time:
Mid-air stomp

Two more notes on Horu cutscene skips:

1. L3 actually doesn't softlock. It works a bit wonky, you gotta save really late during the animation (might even have to save twice at first?) but t works.
2. Do not do the second save too quickly. I think you have to wait for the animation of the lava draining to start. Otherwise, you will run into an invisible death trigger where the lava used to be. Optimally you wouldn't want to save quickly anyway cause you'd have spent a lot of time just standing around waiting for the cooldown, but you know, softlocks are worse.

And, eh... That Horu skip requires Climb. So post-patch, we would either skip Misty Woods, or half of Horu. I have absolutely no idea which one is faster.
I hate moon grotto early I just can't do it consistantly =/
i have yet to get it once so i feel your pain
I surprisingly got it on my 4th try after that I never got it again, it always looks close but never works
It's probably double-pixel-perfect and frame perfect, so yeah. Don't worry about it. I'm just skipping it and using the save glitches on Gumo cutscenes, it's not much slower.
Also not doing it let's you get one fast ablility point.
It could be even worth time loss but not sure.
Vula argues the iceless route should backtrack through the right-side route to get that ability point, which would still be faster in theory.
This way doing iceless let's you save... 20 sec? Or something like that?
Iceless saves you the path from that cave up to the tree, twice over, as well as the time spent on the first Gumo cutscene skip. Shouldn't be too hard to figure out how much time that is.
IF you get iceless on the first try.
I've been just doing iceless practice for the last hour or so, and I can sometimes get it 3-4 times in a row and then be unable to do it at all for 30 tries. If I commit to this as part of my route it's going to be the stickler of every route, I can tell >.>
Learnin to go fast.
Is it just me or is feather faster for horizontal movement? It feels a few frames faster that running or jumping.

I've made another video to show my Ginso Tree strat, I think there is also an angle to get it in one bash but it's pretty precise.
With two bashes it's pretty easy that way.

Nothing special.
Did my first set of runs. My PC hated me, but managed to knock out a 1:24:45 http://www.twitch.tv/criticalcyd/c/6329379
Only good part was Sorrow Bash and I can already see a ton of route improvements from reading the posts I missed while I was streaming. Run still misses a lot of skips too, so time to get to work.
I'm not sure if this is against the rules here (self promotion), but if so, please delete/edit this.

I'm going to be streaming Ori Any% if anyone wants to check it out. Goal for tonight is 1:12:XX real time. The twitch channel is under the same name. Will be starting in ~15 minutes.

Don't know if the skip at the end was already known it skips having to deal with the rocks at all.
Apparently it's not entirely common knowledge, but you can completely skip the part in Misty Woods where you carry the lantern back to the altar at the beginning. Pick it up, carry it just long enough until you hear the ground shift, then drop it and leave.

You actually only have to enter the room the orb is in for the change to trigger, don't even have to touch the thing
So 1:12 was far to basic of a goal.

Here is an Ori Any percent run in 1:04:12. Still tons of mistakes and optimization errors but hopefully this helps someone.

@Vulajin I actually skipped the orb/lanternthingy in this run! Are you proud of me?

And thanks to everyone that stopped by, was fun.

Managed to turn out a 1:18:01, myself: http://www.twitch.tv/vulajin/c/6332002

Mostly it'll be good that there are completed videos of runs available at all, for now. Still lots of room for improvement for all of us.

(edit) Raven, and anyone else with a completed run, please make sure to submit it to the speedrun.com leaderboard so we have runs available for people to see. Also so that it doesn't look like I have the best current time. ~_~

The angle is less precise if you just aim to the right of the log. You can make it all the way to the top to redirect the projectile yourself, you don't have to use that last log at all.

Random thought on early Sorrow (aka Sorrow Dash) from today: if you are having a lot of trouble with it, you can try the safety strat of collecting several extra ability cells (there should be way more than enough in the route as is) and acquiring Ultra Guard before attempting it. This will give you two hits worth of spike damage before dying, or one bird hit and one spike hit. You could also collect an extra health to permit one bird hit and two spike hits. Any of these should make the trick much less risky.
