I can finally play MQ so I'm going to look for stuff on there, in hope that someone will finally do a run on it.

Here's a nice time saver in the Deku Tree:

Nope.  That only works when you're in an area where time doesn't change (Kakariko Village, Kokiri Forest, Zora's Domain, etc.

Hey, I'm interesting in doing a Zelda speedrun, maybe I could try MQ. The question is how many people wants to see one... it wasn't really popular.
No the Quail is not riding the Q

No the question is how good will your performance be.
Doesn't really matter much if there is no speedrun of it yet, does it? Wink But it would land on about 4 hours i presume?

If you're aiming for 4 hours... Don't even bother.  For my first time through I beat it in 4 hours.  The time should be sub 2:30.  This game is much faster than OoT.
Do you apply sequence breaks or use a walkthrough? If you say no to either, I don't believe it. >_>

I studied the current route we have in the master quest topic and applied it.  I also used afew tricks of my own.  The game isn't that hard (unless you never played OoT before).
I really thought you meant 4 hours without using a walkthrough or something, heh.

I know it's easier, but I guess you mean using glitches to reach sub 2:30 - I prefer to do one without. Anyway, I'll think about it.

Ah, there you go.

I was getting slightly concerned about my puzzle-solving skills, if someone really did manage such a feat under the conditions I mentioned. >_>

The only big difference between OoT and MQ is the Deku Scrub puzzle in the Deku Tree (took me forever to guess what it was). Tongue
There are only six permutations of {1, 2, 3}. I just brute-forced it by trying every possible combo. Grin

It would be a dishonor to the work done by so many.  Somebody will come along and make the run as it should be - all segments done, with all the tricks done properly.

Each segment I did can be improved upon by a bit.

TSA, I have to know if the Ruto-throw and double-bombchu-boosted jump in Jabu-Jabu can be done in real-time as it was done in Guano's TAS.

Yes? No? Maybe, after an insane number of tries?

Thanks.  And thanks for the Zelda and Starfox runs.

He's back!
I think fluffy or Acryte should go for the segmented any% run, since there the ones who always say all the tricks can be done relativley easy first time round. BTW I haven't quit yet, I have one day of the week where I have a shot at it and that just happens to be Tommorow.
Zelda Scientist®
haha Aka, thanks. Most of the tricks are pretty easy depending on the trick... lavapit message skip and 3 bombchu bombbag early are tough, but the rest are pretty much cakewalks (in all seriousness). But, right now school and work is more than enough to keep me busy. Maybe sometime later I'd try to run it. But, right now I feel lazy and don't want to commit to anything as well.

I just thought this topic needed some fresh conversations. So here you go!  Grin

Yeah, I pre-ordered my Wii!  8)
Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
Don't necrobump topics if you have nothing to add.

But you see, Manocheese, I'll bet you guys have something to add. Cheesy

And saying that I pre-ordered a Wii is adding. Smiley

Have you pre-ordered it? Shocked
Food goes in here
No one will have anything to add unless someone decides to run this, so until then, we wait.

BTW, I havent pre-ordered a Wii, but I would like to pick one up. And a 360.
Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
I remember when the GameCube came out five years ago, there were, like, ten at my local Target and no rush to get them. I think I'm fairly safe, even if I don't preorder.

Same, I got one pretty close to launch and there were plenty.
I think there's more hype surrounding the Wii though, so ya never know. I could care less about PS3 right now, probably pick one up somewhere down the road, after the dust settles  so to speak.  8)

From the videos I've seen about Wii, I'm not buying it.  I, for one don't feel like standing up and flailing my arms around like an idiot to play video games.  I like to sit down.  I'm buying a PS3 though.
