What do you think?

Would Nate accept Zelda mini runs (eg time it takes to catch the loach)? I would definately send a few, and I am sure other people would too. Would you? What do you think?

I think it would end up being one of those "many people have achived this time" kind of thing.

If you have videos feel free to post them.
... oO;
I mean things such as that of SSBM etc... Little records.

I don't have any, but I am contemplating on whether or not I should make some.

Also, if it became a popular thing, then people would start searching for more and more cheats (to reach certain areas) to speed up their mini-runs. If that happens, it would also help future full-game runners.
Everybody loves Hypnotoad!
Interesting idea.  could pretty much apply to any mini game, too, although preferrably one that has a timer.
... oO;
I agree. Non-minigame things could also be fun, such as collecting all skulltulas.
I don't think the heart pieces/skuttulas thing would be accepted, considering that would be part of a 100%, but probably the other mini games would be allowed.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
i'd want to submit water temple.  typically i can get longshot and kill boss in under 12 minutes.. maybe even shorter.

For those, I was thinking you could beat the game first, (without collecting any heart pieces or skulltulas) and then speed through them with the game already beaten.

Less than 12 minutes? Not bad. ^_^ I'd love to see a speedrun of that!

I think the list would be...

OoT
Zora diving game
Horse Race
Running man race
Talon's chicken game
Horseback Archery (score not time, and the 2000 max is a problem)

MM
Honey and Darling's
The Deku playground
Town Archery
Swamp Archery
Koume's Archery (score, not time, so maybe not)
Goron Race
Great Bay Jumping game (either fastest to 20 or most score)
Beaver races
4 Poes
Secret Shrine (would have to be timed manually)

That's all I can think of that could work for these.  ones that could have problems have the problem in parentheses.
... oO;
Everything could be timed manually with ease. I also added some of your suggestions. Thanks. ^_^ The ones you didn't list that I did should also be fine with manual timing.

I think the things I'd enjoy watching the most would be the fetch quests, like getting the Biggoron's Sword.  But these are probably not doable because they would be part of a 100% run.

But as for this whole idea, I think you're on to something good.

edit: Dekudude, if you want another place to display videos like the ones linked to by your sig, and/or minigame videos, get in contact with Aaron who runs vgmr.us

Read that. Its my oppinion on how 100% run things would be possible.
It isn't really about if it's possible or not, it's just kinda pointless. You're gonna do those in a 100% run anyway, and i'd rather watch that than just collect everything once the game is finished. Anyway, radix has the final word.
... oO;
Personally, I'd prefer to see a collection of all the skulltulas etc after the game is finished, but that is just me.

Does anyone know how often Radix comes to the "Newer Consoles" forum?
Hi! I'm andrewg!
marathon run my best i think is 57 seconds.

I contacted Radix. He said that anything with a timer is okay, but simple game portions aren't (eg Temples). If there are any games on the list I incorrectly erased, let me know!
Everybody loves Hypnotoad!
Honey and Darling, the Goron Race, and 4 poe sisters in MM have timers, and thus should be in there.  Malon's obstacle course also has a timer.
Nobody mentioning the Dampe race? Imagine trying to backwalk that!

Speed is the key.
Here are some records... by TSA:

Petrie911: You're right! I'll put those up right away.

Jammer01: The Dampé race doesn't have a timer, so no. I'd love to see one, though.

Yautja E: But those don't have videos, do they?

It has a timer.

No, but those records should give eventual runners some times to (try to) beat.

I don't think doing runs of individual dungeons is useful at all, because you're going to be going for the fastest time possible, anyway.  While a single-segment run would obviously not be able to match these times, a segmented run sure could.

Ocarina of Time just doesn't make any sense, because of a lack of precise timing and the fact that there just isn't all that much that isn't necessary to complete the game.  The Dampé race is a perfect example: there's only so fast a time that you can get, the difference isn't easily calculable, and in a normal run, you're going to go for as fast a time as you can, anyway.

Because Majora's Mask generally has more timed minigames and whatnot, it'd be more interesting to do runs of these tasks - for example, a run of the Skulltula Houses would be pretty cool to see, as well as the mini-dungeon behind the Ikana waterfall.  Those do not have timers built in to them, but I don't really think that's necessary so long as they are timed accurately by a person.

Since Majora's Mask is too long for a 100% run

There is a 100% MM run up y'know...

Is there?  D'oh.  I can't believe I forgot about that.

What I meant, though, was that Majora's Mask has more non-essential tasks than Ocarina of Time.

Oh, THAT Dampé race... I thought you meant the MM Dampé ghost hunt thing. Grin And Radix said things such as the Spider Houses wouldn't be allowed.

Does anyone here plan on sending anything in?
