Never give up!
No, I haven't quite done a casual run of this yet, but by October I should have at least one full attempt that completes all four championships.  (It's going in this board because, like with Castle of Dr. Brain, I don't have old enough computers to do this on original hardware.)

By all accounts I wager the result being around an hour and a half, but it could wind up as low as 1:15 depending on my luck with some of the fights (single session, of course, so I expect several losses - even one loss costs at least 2 minutes for sure).  I thought I'd discuss a few strategy notes before I get around to actually accomplishing this:
-I will make sure I get a video of this one the first time I do it.
-This will be on Aluminum difficulty, and thus, I plan to stick with Jaguar chassis all the way.  I just can't justify switching to another chassis with how little money you get at that difficulty of play.
-I plan to minimize how often I do the stat training, but I'm more likely to get chassis upgrades as soon as I can get them.
-Should I bother with doing Destruction moves on most opponents early?  My question is whether the margin of extra money makes that much difference on easy mode.  I could far more easily justify doing this on third or fourth difficulty.
-By the same token, I'm not sure if I should fight Christian in the first tournament (where he appears as an unranked challenge if you use the Destruction move on the right opponent - I think he's the only unranked challenge on easy mode).  While it would add a little time, the payout is almost as much as the second tournament's title bout, which would be a HUGE boost to have late in the first tournament and (if I buy the right upgrades with it) possibly prevent a few losses.  Not necessary to even consider in segmented but, again, I planned on single session.

Likely to make my first try at this on Friday.

Okay, first attempt ended disastrously in WAR Invitational. Really, how in the hell is a Jaguar supposed to be able to fight an Electra? I had one early loss in Katushai against Steel Claw and his Flail, but the problem was I lost four times against Bruce and his Electra - things getting WORSE with upgrades rather than better - then a loss to Selenna and her Katana right after the fourth Bruce loss was the point where I'd had it.

I was at about 33:24 when I called it quits - ranked 6th in WAR Invitational.

This one, I'm not even DARING post the video of. It is just ABYSMAL. In fact, I will only post a video when I have a COMPLETE run, in case I wasn't clear earlier.
100% runs=great to watch
I have got to remember to start checking this board!

Good choice on the Jaguar.  As an old Jaguar player that was once good enough to actually beat most of the crazy damned hack characters and tournament packs from the olden days despite not being dexterous enough to properly Pounce or Destruct:  My advice is corner trap setups with Jumping kick, rapid roundhouse, Sweep...or Jaguar Spit(Especially multi!) as possible.  It may not always look that cool to watch, but sometimes, it just might be the only way to get ahead depending.

I never could get into the sequel on my PC at that time, heard it later pretty well imploded on itself.  Maybe there's something to track down out there with this proper PC now if it was ever made freeware and the like...dunno...

In competitive play Jaguar is terrible vs. Katana and Electra, but the bot AI is not that amazing really. Versus Electra you should probably wait and bait out projectile attempts and punish with a jumping throw. This is kinda slow though. Katana is always going to be a problem, just too much reach and it's invincible during a shadow Rush... remember you can combo off Jaguar's throw, so try stunning them, then getting big damage off a throw afterwards.

Oh, are you playing with Hyper Mode on?
Verified verifier and hangaround :)
Are you gonna allow continous combos? - you know the 2097 "cheat" or extra's menu as I'd consider it.
Anyways, the Jaguar can pummel through any single robot, any circuit at any level of difficulty - at least in the hands of the right person, it is without par the single best and most effective robot in the entire game, if you ask me.

As an addition to the combo, jumpkick, roundhouse x2-3 depending on your speed, sweep, jaguar spit, and then perhaps a few jaguar rises the frontal floor attack. Can't remember the name.
I cant remember if you on the later speed levels have enough time to do the jaguar swinging attack as a finish, but maybe.
.
Is there anything stopping you from swapping the Jaguar out for say, Pyros or Flail? If I remember right they're both fairly strong 'bots.

Pyros is great for playing casually but it's really slow for actually beating people up. The AI does have a problem with blocking the swoop though IIRC so you might be able to abuse that.

I've never tried tournament mode with a Flail. I think you get interrupted too easily though, which means you will get trashed by Electra/Katana.

Honestly the best bot for tournament is Shadow, you can just max out on leg speed and light-kick people to death, it's pitifully easy.

For Extras/Hyper Mode - No on both counts (I'd be open to trying it on Hyper Mode though).  The 'speed' counter in the gameplay section is also set to the midpoint of the meter - with DOSBox this allows me to keep a handle on the action while still being a fluid experience.

As for switching to other bots, I don't think I can really justify doing that within the first two tournaments.  I'll look at switching robots around the midpoint of WAR Invitational, when I should have enough money to both trade and still get quite a few upgrades for the new robot.  I'll probably investigate every single one, too.

As corner trapping goes - That, the overhead throw, and 'tipping' (attacks at the farthest range I can still hit with) are actually about the core of my in-fight strategy so far.

Bit of an update on this end...

I honestly shouldn't need the money from the unranked fight with Christian, therefore I won't be bothering with Destruction moves in this run.

But I'm rusty.  A close loss to Pyros early, around eight minutes into the game, is how my previous attempt ended (I REFUSE to have a loss any sooner than very late in the second tournament - probably shouldn't afford one before late WAR Invitational, but one step at a time).
