Damn, I turn away for 2 days and the topic remains bumped to the top with 3 pages?
» StrangenessDSS I understand all your points are valid. I mainly wanted to cover the celebration on IGN finally releasing the Rev. channel, and that statement they said. But you're probably right, let's all get real here, Nintendo could easily get away with the console selling at $249.99 when everything else is $399 ...
Concerning the X360 dissapointments, I'm a contender. After reading on that one of my favorite developers (Rareware) completely screwed up on Kameo really let's me down. As I was going to rush an X360 come January for that and PGR3, but now, I really don't see the rush to get the console so hastily for only 1 next-gen title that interests me. =\
Now, we've all spammed about the console, what does everyone think about the launch/ known games coming to Rev?:
- "Super Mario 128" (supposibly launch) - "The legend of Zelda" Revolution - Super Smash Bros. Revolution (launch) - That one FPS recently announced by that one company .. I forgot the name
I'm fairly certain you're talking about Metroid Prime 3 by Retro Studios.
I like the Revolution controller, but I don't think it's a pure upgrade like Nintendo wants everyone to think. People will still use the control stick in favor of the light gun for games with the Mario 64 control style. I think you'll see a lot of games using the 'lean'(tilt?) of the Rev controller though, like Splinter Cell. The driving wheel peripheral should get as much of a re-vamp as the light gun has...oh well.
Is Perfect Dark Zero really that horrible? Also, Xbox has a lot of good driving games, and that ninja game...does everyone here hate Xbox?
For this reason I hope there is not a Banjo-Threeie for it will likely be botched as well.
I've never personally played Banjo Tooie (I'll get it as my first retro game download from the REV, if it's available), but didn't the ending leave it open again? God forbid... Banjo and Kazooie on an XBOX That just doesn't go. It's like having Crash Bandicoot on a SNES.

Minus the time travelling. PS = post-SNES.
As for Rareware, I'm convinced that they've stoped being a game company several years ago. Kameo was being developed for the GC, and Perfect Dark Zero was in the works since Perfect Dark. On the N64. Five-six years in development isn't productivity, I don't care what you say. I wouldn't doubt a Banjo-Threeie for Microsoft eventually. If it wasn't for the fact that Rareware fails videogames now. Kameo and Perfect Dark Zero may be gems, but they've taken far too long to create and stand alongside other games that took less time and yet meet or overcome the quality they represent. F minus minus.
Zelda Revolution = Twilight Princess? Let's review: Twilight Princess was slated for December of this year, but was delayed. It won't likely come out any later than around E3 2006, and that's being extremely pessimistic. Revolution has been cited as a likely November 2006 launch, and with details surfacing in E3 2006, it doesn't seem like an unreasonable assumption to me. We'll have plenty of time to get, beat, chop apart, and begin to master Twilight before Rev even becomes a pressing concern. Case closed.
Side comment: Is anyone else worried that the Big N may not stick with the name Revolution? It fits so well, too. I really hope it sticks.
It won't stick. It's a codename and they never stick. N64 was codnamed Project Reality, GameCube was codenamed Dolphin and I'm pretty sure that even the SNES was codenamed something. The Revolution isn't going to be its name.

DS?
Edit: I probably shouldn't have just a one word post...lol. Uh...about Twilight Princess. The delay is probably just the Zelda team rebelling against unrealistic expectations, which has them pumping out titles much faster than they were in the earlier days (about one every five years to one every two...lol). Changing the control scheme and updating every model and texture isn't what you do with a four month extension. Besides...teh Rev is BC, so it will be a Relvolution title.
When the Gamecube was known only as the Dolphin, did they get this far? Or did they unveil the name Gamecube by the time we saw the system itself? If the latter, I would guess the Revolution is the real name.
Plus... if they change it, the 360 doesn't connect the two other consoles names together!
Zelda Revolution. Don't you mean Twilight Princess? C'mon, I can't be the only one thinking it.
Many already answered my reply, but I did say what I meant. Zelda: Twilight Princess is appearing on Gamecube. I'm referring to the other Zelda in development for Revolution.

Edit- I know the games won't be released at the same time, but they're still gonna be the only things I play for a long time Gosh, I hope they do Mario 128 right. I never played Sunshine, because it didn't seem like the Mario game I was expecting. *don't bash me, I bet the game's great and all* I just hope they make it the Mario game we were all expecting after Mario 64. Metroid Prime 3- I don't care if we hate Retro, I still eagerly await what they've cooked up. Super Smash Bros- could be the coolest fighting game ever. Ooh, I wanna see how the dodge system will work! I'll pwn everyone with it! Twilight Princess- I'm gonna imagine it's a Rev title. It doesn't really matter either way. Yay hardcore Zelda game!
Mario 128, MP3, SSB, LoZ:TP Coolest game lineup ever.
I'm gonna challenge one thing here: SSB:R the coolest fighting game ever? Unless they SERIOUSLY re-tweak the engine (which is a distinct possibility, don't get me wrong), then that title will have to go to one of Guilty Gear, Soul Calibur, Dead or Alive, or Virtua Fighter. SSB is fun, but it's FAR from the best.
Then again, I've been outlining an ideal fighting game engine over the past several months, tweaking it here and there as new things occur to me, and nothing on the market today has come anywhere close to my vision of the perfect fighter. The only ones that have come somewhat close aren't actually fighters at all. I'm not gonna derail this thread with the long write-up (and it is long) but if anyone's interested in seeing it, send a PM, I'll be more than happy to share.

Screw a PM, I read 2 paragraphs and then you don't reveal? Fellow audiences wouldn't be pleased. Reveal all please!
Soteos, it's been pushed back to a Q2 2006 release. The Revloution wouldn't come out for months after that (And plus, with the Revolution's backwards compatibility with Gamecube titles, it'd be stupid to hold off on releasing the game to make it a revolution title... >.>)
Tri-Hex, should I fetch the pitchforks and torches?
And I've always hated fighting games except SSB. So I retract the statement "best fighting game ever" and replace it with "my most favorite fighting game ever". I even didn't like Soul Calibur (and I love weapons and stylized combat). Meh, it's all opinion.
