Hi there, I was wondering if anyone knew where I can get the really old Quake speedrunning/trick demos. I'm interested in how Quake running looked back when the game had only just been released and how it evolved to its current form. Unfortunately a lot of the old sites are down and I don't know if there were ever any attempts to properly archive them.

For example these links I found can't be found even on the Internet Archive:

Does anyone still have them or know where to find them? I'd really appreciate any leads to other demos like these too. I'm planning on putting them all online on Youtube in HD-plus quality as well. I just put Skillz Test #4 online too - make sure to watch it in "original" quality, it's near lossless:

I remember this! I wish I still had my old hard drives that had all of these demos. I used to play as DooMfienD back in the day. Thank you for making me feel old!

I probably have stuff like this on old hard drives too, but I wouldn't know where to begin looking, I've accumulated a lot of them.

Browse the /demos directory for some more, including a skillz test#3 reel (st3.zip) and one demo made by Lord of Radix of the Deadly Venom Clan !

There's a deathmatch demo with John Romero himself !
Description reads :
One of the oldest Quake demos around but still cool to watch. Romero isn't a great Quake player (although he'll tell you different) but there's something about the way he plays that is fun to watch. Romero does a couple of things better than any player I've seen.

I remember you (DooMfienD) too, I even remember beating your demos on e4m3 years and years ago and being very proud of those demos (looking at the current record, I'm sure my demos must suck a lot though - yours too) ;-) Good to see that some of the old Quake runners are still around.

Omega: I think I have an old cd somewhere with obscure Quake files. I'll have a look to see if I can find it.
