Yep yep yep!
I haven't gotten around to trying the long-distance PS yet, so I can't say anything on that one, but for the Moon Cave fight skip, it's a simple matter of staying along the right wall and jumping over the rocks.
Ah, thanks blueglass, its much easier than I thought it would be.  Another thing I am curious about is if you upgraded the purse in your route, and at what point if you did.  Some of the bosses give more money than I can even hold, it seems like getting a bigger purse before Oni Island would be ideal.
Yep yep yep!
Yeah, IIRC it's best to upgrade it sometime before the tube fox fight (assuming you have enough praise at that point, don't remember), since they give 90-something thousand yen.  The money itself should go into buying ex-slip Ls for taking care of bosses and some of the unavoidable random battles.  It's not too important exactly when you do it, as long as it's before Oni: the Tobi races pay out over 100K yen combined, which is used to buy the ex-slips you'll need for Ninetails.

After playing the wii version for a bit, I can see that almost all of the bosses have more life than in the HD version (or at least HD NG+), except for Crimson Helm who has less for whatever reason.  Also, some of the fight triggers are larger on wii making certain HD version skips impossible.

I'm now working on a wii NG run.  My main issue so far (besides the controls) is the Yami fight.  If I don't have the 57 or so slips it takes to kill him its extremely hard to damage him w/o the sword from Orochi 2.

Speed Running in Robotnik's Basement
Hi. I am interested in Speedrunning Okami...but I do not have Okami HD.
I am new to Speed Running, so I'm I don't REALLY know much about it, but I really want to get into it with this game.
Found a couple glitches that are interesting yesterday:

Triggering Fights From OoB & Using Weapons In OoB:

Amaterasu Telekenetic Grab Glitch:

Nothing useful yet, but both are interesting and could lead to something.
That Telekenetic Grab is hilarious and I hope it ends up being the most useful thing ever.

Hello, I'm a new Okami runner. I started working on it a few weeks ago, and I'm just trying to get my runs out there.

http://www.twitch.tv/leternaldarkness/c/5116989 - 1:48:25
PB'd by 3 seconds. No game audio until entering Agata, because of faulty settings. It was a pretty bad run that didn't pick up until Yamato, but a PB is a PB.

Any help or criticism is greatly appreciated!

UPDATE: PB'd again today. Nearly got sub 1:45:00.

After messing with the Teleport to Mist thing that happened to kwanzai a couple years ago, I finally found a setup that can be easily reproduced in an RTA setting.

This saves quite a bit of time in NG categories.
trepidation
Dope! But can you explain what's going on here?
2 Things.
1. The room with the pot exists on the same map as the main area of the Imperial Palace, but it's very very far away.
2. You're able to use powerslash through the ground.
So with the pot being as far as it is, you just need a very precise position and angle in order to cut it from the main area.

It can pretty much be done anywhere, but the only 100% consistent setup we have at the moment is the one shown in the above video.

Earlier today another runner, Kinnin11, tried it in a NG+ All Brushes run, but in a completely different part of the main area.
This is him going back and reviewing/explaining what he did.
I haven't watched any NG+ runs nor have I read every page of this thread, but just wondering, has anyone tried using a maxed out Thief Glove? That thing kills ANYTHING in less than 3 hits what it doesn't kill it seriously damages more than any other attack in the game.
As far as I know, the damage glitch only works on PS2.

You can already OHKO pretty much anything in NG+.
In NG it wouldn't be worth it, because you use Ex. Slips to do massive amounts of damage quickly.
And not to mention it costs 70 demon fangs.
The Thief Glove's high damage is a glitch?
I had some guy telling me about it in my chat a while ago. He said that he could only do it on the PS2 version.
After googling for a minute, I found this. http://okami.wikia.com/wiki/Hidden_strike_glitch
Yeah, this glitch makes the glove do no damage. I'm talking about the high damage output it can eventually get.

Yes, I didn't mean in NG because maxing the glove's attack power takes I don't know how many uses, but I'm guessing it's like 10,000+ or something insane like that, so if it were to used at all it would only be viable in NG+. I had to sit there beside a demon scroll using it over and over. I made a plan to use it like 500 times per day like this with infinite ink items. Now it can kill Devil Gate Nagi in like, two hits.

I've never used the Ex. Slip so I don't know the damage on those nor do I run this game, just interested in in the cool stuff being found.
Just thinking of possibilities like sending Issun out then using a slip right after.

After messing around in the ark a bit, I found a neat text storage.

You trigger both cutscenes from Hakuba at the same time.
Talk to her again, and skip the cs immediately.
Talk once more and advance the text without using A. (Jumping while the text is active will crash the game)

I go on to show that you can fight demon scrolls, which does nothing.
Then if you talk to Marco twice, you can run around while in his "Money or Demon Fangs" menu.

edit: I tried this on PS3 using KTs, and it consistently hardlocks the console ~7 seconds after talking to the celestial.
After messing with the Teleport to Mist glitch(Mist Warp), a couple runners and I found the quickest possible position to do Mist Warp from in NG+.
That being the position you initially stand in when you enter the Imperial Palace.

It has a 80-90% success rate, where the old setups for NG+ were 20-30%.

Since the setup uses the edge of the camera, we've came up with two different versions. One for 16:9 and one for 4:3.
