Heh I just saw this. I've been at MAG for the past couple of years. It's great. I'm always super busy for multiple reasons but it'd be cool to see some of you guys there this time around.
Also, Emptyeye and Kareshi are cool dudes.

I would like to go to the Get-Together. I live in Lubbock, TX. But, knowing exactly when and where this is would help to make travel arrangments.

As far as live speed racing, is there going to be just random games everyone brings?
Or will someone annouce specific games that will be played so people can build their skill now?
I know there has been mention of games already on the website, but what if you suggest a game that is not?

What did you have in mind then?

From what I understand, there's going to be at least:

- Brawl
- Genesis-era Sonic games
- Mario Bros. / Super Mario World

Feel free anyone to correct me, or add more that I'm too lazy to remember being mentioned. I can (assuming Nate has the room) bring my ion DDR pad if there's a request. It disassembles into two parts (handlebar, and pad) for convenience. I have StepMania with like, an assload of songs (1200+), as well as [the PS2 games] MAX1 through Extreme 2.

Got a picture of the pad handy? I have one myself but I'm thinking nate's not gonna have the space for either of them. I've got DDR Mario Mix on Cube, so if you want to crack some of those I could bring it (have PS to Cube controller adapter).

It's not good to not decide on something like this until later. Everyone has to be able to make arrangements if they're going to go =p

I have a good friend who organizes big LAN parties. He often winds up advertising them on short notice, thus people are caught by surprise and wind up not going, either because of time constraints, being unprepared financially, etc.

Well, MAGfest goes on for 4 days, correct? So, there's no reason to be at that convention a whole lot of the time we're together, mainly for reasons already stated earlier in this thread (not enough time spent with our group as a whole, fee, etc.). I personally don't mind where we go (since I've never been to a convention anyway, sadly), but I do like the idea of hanging out and watching/doing speedrun attempts and tournaments outside of the convention (if we do attend) the most.

It's got a USB cord, so it's Step Mania compatible. To give a scale of how many songs I would have available for everyone to play, here's my song list as of now (Likely to be 20GB+ by December):

If possible, could we get some concrete days of when this is taking place like, by the end of September? October is the longest I can go before I really need to get the dates recorded in my "Request Days Off" book at my job to guarantee my availability. Since I'm assuming we (Me, Nate, and MatrixTN) are gonna be out-of-homestate for a week-ish or longer..

I've mentioned the same at work on my end, requesting vacation for the week in question (and in the 7 and a half years I've worked, I've never gone on vacation!) I'd say about a week and a half from Nate's perspective.

ok ... that's all the people i can take and because we are four now space is going to be very limited. i mean ddr stuff if it fits length and widthwise in the trunk will probably be no problem because it's flat or whatever but maybe i should actually measure my trunk sometime to be sure. i mean it's a honda civic and this is a pretty long trip so i don't want to give anyone any false impressions like it's not going to be hella cramped.

I eventually expected that. Don't worry, I'm sure we'll have some sing-a-long songs or something to pass the time (Once the awkwardness of actually meeting each other in RL wares off).
