My feelings on The Demon Rush

The No Major Skip category needs changing now that BA/RBA and a thousand other glitches exist that completely destroy this game.

Here is the new NMS category:

Collect the Stones and Medallions, beat Ganon's Castle Trials. NO BA/RBA whatsoever.

Apparently, there has been some debate about how BA/RBA works into low%.

Using items through BA does not count towards percentage because the items don't count as part of your inventory.

RBA does count towards percentage because the items do count as part of your inventory.

Okay, then the Requiem route should definately be used for low%.

I assume the bottle on B doesn't count becaues of the logic behind the decision, despite the fact that it is used in RBA.

Also low% MST, despite not being an official SDA category, should now be at 28 items with a BAed fire arrow or din's fire off of the light arrow cutscene. But isnce it is an MST, does that mean BA is not allowed? Food for thought, as this will never be a real run.

BA/RBA is not allowed in a MST (or NMS) run. This includes low% and low% is an accepted run type in SDA.
The reason that BA'd its don't count is mainly for Deku Stick on B.

NMS was renamed to MST (medallions, stones, trials) because the name NMS contradicts itself a bit because there's plenty of huge skips inside most temples, so it would be weird to call it "NMS" when there's still big stuff involved.

outside that, collecting the stones and medallions and no BA/RBA sounds good for the rules (i still think the trials should be skipped since that's the same as clipping past the one wall to skip half of the shadow temple but can't win them all, can we?)

Thanks for this clarification, it has been much needed, especially the BA/RBA rules.

I think for website purposes NMS is fine because its an archetype category.

Low% route updated for the new ruling. Sticks replaced with requiem and B sticks is used for child spirit. It makes the run overall easier but the child spirit segment much harder :(.

why is runnerguy restarting? isn't his run an any%? doesn't the recently defined rules concern MST and low% runs only?

The restart has nothing to do with the new ruling, its so he can impliment forest escape bridge clip, the 2 owl skips and a better scarecrows song in segment 4 which will save about 30 seconds.

I was talking about segmented runs. But yeah i just think its funny cuz theres a fair amount of people who have started runs that haven't uploaded segments for some time now, but its good to here that some people are making progress

Yeah I'm still working on a new segment 4. The ~30 seconds of improvements was just too much to ignore. Progress is slow but hey, I have been slow since my last run so at least I'm consistent. Tongue

Haven't pressed record for it yet as I still have lots of practice to do.
