Segment 12 was also good. I've always wondered, though-how do you quickspin without having your sword out?

I'm guessing you would do the same thing you do to jumpslash without your sword out; tap B, quickly rotate the analog stick 360 degrees, then tap B again.

Now, when I do Dodongo's... I guess I have to pull of Acryte's Bomb Bag early trick. I'll settle for 4 bombchus (I have 5 to spend), because doing it with 3 bombchus seems to be extremely hard.

Any instructions on how to do that stuff with the slingshot/bombchu/sword glitch is appreciated. For example; Where do I activate the sword glitch?

You activate the sword glitch off of the tiny little bush before the bridge, then just backflip to cross the gaps of the bridge.

For the hover slingshot method w/ bombchu I suggest practicing it alot.  What you do is do the endless sword glitch, hold L, get a slingshot bullet ready, backflip, release the seed from the slingshot after you backflip, then as soon as you release it shield drop a bombchu.

The way I find easiest to do this is to have Slingshot on C-Left and Bombchus on C-Right, or vice-versa.

Unless I'm mistaken, you quick spin with the sword sheathed in the same way you do it with the sword out: rotate once and B.

Wow, very nice segment 11.  Keep up the good work.  Smiley

Both segments were quite good, but is slingshot ammo going to be a problem?  You could do the target practice minigame in segment 12 if you need an easy refill.  It's been a while since I've looked at the contents of the pots in DC; I hope an accessible one gives you some ammo.

Don't worry, I got it covered. Wink

Edit: I can do the bombchu hover now... but I always gain a lot of distance but no height, or very little height but no distance, mostly the latter. :-/

Yeah very nice segment 11 yautja, keep it up  Wink
And, if you want to save some for later then you can use the bombflower in that room, otherwise use the grass.
As fierce said, you don't need ammo to do the slingshot trick, so for skulltula you can use the boomerang and then you can restock at that grass you activate the sword glitch on. Also, you can grab some more in the inside of dodongo's skull. There is grass there too.
Speed is the key.
I don't need ammo for the slingshot + bombchu hover? Wow, then I'm pretty sure I don't need ammo at all. 8)

I can't seem to do the sword glitch on the grass, though... Everytime I try, I just cut the grass. :-/

I'm having the same problem in Majora's Mask  :-/
Everybody loves Hypnotoad!
Try this.  Stand so that you're facing the grass.  now move a little to your left (while facing the grass).  Make sure it still says grab.  Now try it.  If you still cut the grass, hold left on the analog stick while doing this.

Even if you do that, sometimes it will still cut it. You have to position yourself on the edge of the grab icon range and stab diagonally upwards as well as in the direction that's furthest from the grass.

I just realized something. With the bombchu hover, we can now get to that one chest in Gerudo's Fotress as a kid without CC. Since the Odd Mushroom is there, would we be able to get it and skip part of the Biggoron trading sequence?

That seems like a good idea!  Problem is we don't have any explosives yet at that point.

Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
I don't know if it would even work, though. *Goes to test*

Okay, if you get it and go to the potion shop in one go, everything is fine and you skip the earlier portions of the quest. If you save as a kid before doing that, it turns into Kojiro... I'll test saving as an adult.

Saving as an adult has the same effect... Also, if you get the Odd Mushroom, the Heart Piece won't be there... Darn. :-[

Hey guys, would someone like to write a mini-summary/update for this topic?

I'm new to SDA and would very much like to follow whats going on in OoT speedrunning. What's the estimated time this 100% run might take? Keep up the good work  Smiley

XD Someone didn't read the thread...

I love it when that happens.

Okay, this'll probably help yautja quite a bit. It's the Staircase Method for the Bomb Hover trick so you can do it on flat ground. Here's a quick use of it:

Epona Early(Easy)
Speed is the key.
That should make things easier, yes. Thanks a lot.

I have to ask Radix first, though, chances are, it's a boundary vio.

How? What are you talkign about? you are jumping into a load zone not a void. But, confiramation is a good thing.
Ugh..

Sorry, but isn't it just faster to bomb hover over the main fence now (the one you should hop with epona)? It's a tiny little higher than the fence you got on.

I'm talking about the part where you run behind that wall... I'm not sure if Radix'll allow that. Mad_Andy's idea is interesting, though.

yeah check the other topic, that vid is up as well.
Fight, Crocogator, for everlasting peace!
In case it hasn't been brought up (I am not scanning that many pages) and in hopes that no one pitches a fit because of what it is...

http://tasvideos.org/1140S.html They've TAS'd it in under 2:40. :gonk:

Is there an .avi version of it or a media player that can play .m64 files?  Emulators don't work on my computer.
