yeah, my friend deleted it when I wasn't looking.  Angry

He claims it was an accident, but the delete button is pretty hard to accidentally press.

I've reuploaded it now.

Bombhover Sideflipping - Doesn't require hookshot/slingshot/bow/etc.
Can be done as child or adult but timing is tighter on child.
Zelda Rulez!
As you can see acryte is OoT master. That new trick with hover is great! Never tought of that. Great job with it and this would solve many hover problems and it looks easy to do too Grin

Mp16 - Awesome segment! Those tricks what you pulled of and and... all that stuff. Amazing stuff! Keep up to good work! Oh and btw you are OoT speedrun master too.

EDIT:
Looking that segment makes me want to continue my own segmented run too. I've had too long break from it now. I hope I can pull up new segment soon enought Smiley

Can I assume it still requires a source for ISG, and is it do-able in Majora's Mask?

Thanks Kazooie, that means a lot coming from you.  Smiley

when you decide to continue your run, best of luck! Segment 6 isn't terribly hard, but has some intense luck manipulation that could take a while to get. But at least you're done with segment 4. Cheesy

MrGrunz is a guay
For future low% refrence, I have compiled a list of items gotten in the current low% and what is preventing them from being skipped in hopes it may bring more intrest in low% and bringing it down even more.

*Kokiri sword – activating  ISG as child for forest escape and Shadow Early for Hover Boots, cucco dive to the well, jumpslashing for the chus in the Well
*deku shield – Forest  escape, Shadow Early, megaflip gap in Shadow (might be possible to skip with CC, but would be against SDA's rules)
*Deku sticks - nedded in spirit to get chus
*Zelda’s letter – automatically given before Zelda’s Lullaby
*Zelda’s Lullaby – don’t even think about it >_>
*Cucco bottle – needed for RBA for 1 arrow, Ocarina items
*Bombchus – various hovers, damage boosts and magaflips, very unlikely to be skipped
*Gold Scale – needed to get Letter in a Bottle (can a TASer try to see if its possible to get the bottle by coming up under it from OoB?)
*Letter in a Bottle – needed for RBA for 1 arrow
*Master Sword – >_>
*Light Medallion – >_<
*Magic – Light Arrows, Spirit temple boss hover
*Mirror Shield – Twinrova, hovering
*Spirit Medallion – Light Arrows
*Shadow Medallion – Light Arrows
*Light Arrows – v_v

Also, for anyone who has not come to the zelda irc yet, I strongly suggest coming.  Its getting much more active and is helping out a lot, and a few new tricks have already been discovered thanks to it (Acryte's new hover trick for one).  I posted the instructions on the last page for anyone wondering how to get there.

One last note, if it isn't obvious already, I finished my low% Cheesy
Thanks to Acryte I have to do ANOTHER HARDER low% Cry
Zelda Rulez!
Thanks Mp16! Same to you Grin

I thin I will redo segment 4 first than going forward, maybe segment 5 too. Still good luck with your run Mp16!
I'm not your buddy, guay!
That's probably a good idea if you want to keep pace with me.

Segment 4a
Segment 4b

From gaining control of Link to grabbing the Master Sword, I'm about 30 seconds ahead. I ran it against groobo's demo run and he beat me by about 1 second. His forest escape was far superior but I gained time at nearly every phase from that point on, so they were almost even by the end. It was actually fun to watch as I was so far behind early, and then slowly over the course of the run I caught up.

Still though, my segment did have some minor mistakes in it and there is always the fact that you could do the bridge clip to save further time. So I believe you can beat my time in this segment.  Smiley

Good luck if you do try segment 4 again. I know that if we keep one-upping each other, this is going to turn out to be a much better run than had just one of us tried it.  Grin
Zelda Rulez!
Wow! Great segment you got there runnerguy. It was almost perfect when I watched it and you even used same strategy to escape forest than me. Great job! Grin

It would be great a have little competition between us. Are you going to post your run to the sda if you get it done? That would be great. But my only problem with speedrunning is my time in nowadays. I have so much interesting to other things and not so much to games anymore than my school time. I have jobs now and other things too in my life. I hope somebody unterstand what I mean Smiley

But still I'm gonna try beat your time in this and sorry if I'm slow to doing run nowadays. Good luck with your run if you are gonna send it to sda and good luck to me if I can even beat your time in this, you are very good oot player, much better than me Wink

EDIT:
Sorry this offtopic post.
boss
Good segment 4, you got to hyrule about 10s later than I did in my demo run and still got the same final time at the end. Except the minor changes in the cucoo route it's mostly thanks to better movement, a thing that I didn't know shit about back when I did the run, so I guess you'll be able to improve my time by quite a bit if you keep it up.

Trade items are BA-able and definitely should count towards % this is what we were discussing on the Irc channel.

The Weird Egg and the Cucco as a child are event items that Link obtains. Getting early chus means that you can skip both of them. It is possible to do but requires a deku stick to get to the chu room in Spirit Temple (to kill the armos). We thusly skip the Kokiri Sword and buy a Deku Stick from the shop. This of course is moot unless we do one of the following:

Bombhover with a Guay to get to the silver gauntlets and try to work our way backwards @_@

or my new trick:
Low % Early Chus
If you listen to the sounds they make it's actually quite easy to do Smiley

Reduces % by 1 item.
Zelda Rulez!
Great video acryte! Smiley
That doesn't look hard either, but I may think it's hard to position that lizalfos to correct position.

To Runnerguy - You did that bridge skip in you great segment. I tried practise little bit that infinite superslide and then quikly tried that forest escape and tried to clip trought of bridge but without success. How much you tried it? Or was it just too hard and then you used that backflip strategy for it, Thanks.
I'm not your buddy, guay!
Acryte, I posted this on the youtube comments, but it probably has a better chance of being seen here. Is it possible to do the cucco jump with deku stick? I thought people were doubting if that was possible.

Kazooie, I practiced the bridge clip for many hours over the course of a few days and realized it just wasn't going to happen. That was just staying there at the scrub too, it wouldn't have even counted having to reset every time you messed up. So when the record button went on I had already practiced on the backflip method.
The video is nice, but there is still no way to do the DoT skip w/o kokiri sword. and I forget y but you cant get deku sticks on B either
This statue's one-eyed gaze pierces into your mind
Can't cast rod w/o sword equipped
Zelda Scientist®
Yea I forgot we needed sword anyways for the ToT, but since it skips Weird Egg and Chicken but requires deku stick, we reduce the item count by 1

Alot of interesting discussion was made on the irc recently. I came up with a lot of interesting ideas for tricks or glitches yesterday that failed... and also some glitches from using cheats that had me testing all day just to figure out why they were acting the way they were acting.

But, something good came of all my wasted time.

Firstoff, in a 100% are there any places in the route we could use the Odd Mushroom as a way to warp from one place to Lost Woods (to save time)?

And secondly my new trick - deleted to reupload
Merry Chrismas =)
nice trick

what did you exactly do?
Did you just start a underground timer while the odd mushroom timer was still running?
Edit history:
Acryte: 2008-12-25 06:36:13 am
Zelda Scientist®
yea, start a type 2 timer that counts upward while a type 1 timer is going, and then find a way to leave the area without the timer "expiring". Normally the type 2 one will disappear when you leave, but if there is a type 1 going as well then the type 2 one doesn't and the type 1 remains paused in the background @_@

This will act as a replacement for Goron and Zora Tunic. The timer and "protection"  will stay with you even going forward and backward through time. It also gives infinite time in Ganon's "Tower Collapse", as well as all other Type 2 Timers I assume (White). Type 1 Timers however will most likely extinguish the Type 2 Timer completely and then unpause the hidden original Type 1 Timer, which will begin counting down again. I haven't tested the type 1 timers yet to see if it overwrites the other, or how it behaves, but this is my hypothesis.

Meh won't work for the running man though, he won't challenge you unless there are no other timers going.

Though it provides infinite time in Ganon's Tower Collapse, if you jump into the void at the top of the castle then the timer resets (and overwrites the old one) starting a new 3:00 timer and effectively getting rid of your previous 2 timers. Also going into the Super Cucco room in Lon Lon Ranch cancels the type 2 timer and the type 1 timer picks up where it left off.

More testing should be done. Who knows if any new glitches or uses can come from it. I'd continue testing but I'm goin to bed now. Merry Christmas all!

i grabbed the skulltula token with the hookshot while standing in the rotating platform and got inside the pot.

It's possible to hit him with your sword when he's charging at you.
It might be possible to hit his hands with your sword too. Or a deku nut?
