Maybe somebody here will find a way

I've found a much more reliable and easy way to get this Skulltula early.

The downside, it requires bomb hovering and *sigh*, Iron Boots.

I'll edit this post when it gets uploaded on YouTube, which shouldn't be too long.

I found a way to skip the boss key in the spirit temple. With a little OoB and some bomb(chu) hovers I got into the boss room without the boss key.
The problem is, that it's probably to hard to do in real time and I can't upload the whole shortcut.
I'll upload it after I'm already in the OoB. How to get into the OoB will be uploaded tomorrow.

I thought that we could already get into the boss room without the boss key, doesn't bomb hovering so that Link is about the same height as the door and then a jumpslash make you go inside the boss door work? It only takes about 5 bombs or so to get to that height too.

I did the route myself. Timed different routes myself also, compared which is fastest for non-tas.

so far the only real improvement to your demonstration run is doing ZXM's trials skip, right? anything else?

It'd save 12s iirc (not counting the time needed to get the extra bombs). Now if it's worth it depends on how long will it take you to get bombs from somewhere and getting mroe out of the grass in kakariko goes out of the question.

the beamos on the way in to the trials lobby would work

If someone could time exactly how much extra time does getting some off the beamos take, that waould be great.
Quote from Mp16:

Okay, after these questions have been answered, I will have the route completely done.

1) Can you get the Heart Piece from Dampe immediately after getting the Hookshot?

2) Can you skip the guy that makes you play Saria's Song to make him move in the Lost Woods from the other side?

3) Does the Owl appear in the Lost Woods after getting Saria's Song even though you've become an adult already?

1) Yes, obviously you just run through the maze again afterwards

2) I cant do it, but maybe I dont have the right angle

3) Tested and yes  :-\, stupid time traveling owl

good luck with the rest of the run

I found a way to do it without Iron Boots!!

Its pretty easy to do once you find the angle. You just have to try and get yourself jammed in one of the rock's edges
Merry Chrismas =)
why didn't you upload so far?

Brian has the iron boots already, when he wants to get the skulltula, btw
Well if nothing else its at least a faster way. Also did he post his route yet?
Merry Chrismas =)
yes, on page 322, one page before this one Tongue
Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
As far as backflipping over Mido the other way goes, I'm pretty sure that is possible and much easier than backflipping over him forward.

It actually isnt, Ive never been able to pull it off. Why would it be though?

Edit: Ok after alot more testing Im saying it isnt possible the way we get by him. You can however, suplerslide, megaflip, or one bomb hover past him so choose you favorite (id go with superslide)

MrGrunz said it was possible to superslide through Mido. Could someone else test this just to be 100% sure?

Nice. Too bad there's no way to do it without a bomb hover. Do you think it's possible to do with a single bomb bomb hover. It would save time and bombs.

Also, here is segment 17:
Glitching EB 1 flying man at a time
You mean backflipping over Mido on the right side, not the left, as shown here:

I thought this was the only side the game allowed you to backflip over him in the first place (at least while people were testing this theory that year).

I've never personally tried the right side, but I can do it on the side shown in the video.

Ya you beat me to the punch, superslide, megaflip, and one bomb hover all work.
Maybe one bomb hover on the rock might work but its probably extremely difficult, (goes to try it)

Edit: I doubt the one bomb hover is possible, I did find another way that doesnt use bombs if you are trying to save them, but it might be a little slower
Merry Chrismas =)
upload please, I want to see it

@mickey
we want to skip mido from the other side, not right or left

superslide and megaflip works for mido skip but not normal backflip
Quote from MrGrunz:

Probably not particularly helpful since its a little slower, but the segment looks brutal so maybe an easier method that saves two bombs would be a better choice

Also about segment 49, wouldn't it be better to get the two heart pieces and skultula before you give the eyeball frog to the old lady so you have time for the three poes+ skultulas?

I've found an easier method without Megaflip / Superslide and you just need to use the hookshot and hold Z to make it 3rd person view. Then when you aim it up so that "Speak" changes to "Jump" this is an eaiser method to backflip over Mido.

Ah, I misread it then. Either way, my question is now (and I guess I might've missed this earlier on), but why would you want to skip him going back (in terms of the route itself)?
Zelda Rulez!
I saw that somebody thought can you hover in void. If I remember corretly you can hover over void on GCN and on VC but not on N64 version. Correct me if I'm wrong. So that Spirit Temple boss key skip should work on cube versio. Smiley

Another thing what I need to ask is this. I've problems with that forest escape glitch. I can done it with lots of nuts and that old megaflip way easily. But what I cannot get work is that two nut hover forest escape. It's even possible on console and have anybody done it on console even with three nuts?
Merry Chrismas =)
3nuts is record on a console, I think

little question
my boss key skip isn't allowed on SDA then, is it?
Zelda Rulez!
If I'm right it's allowed. Because you don't skip big portions of the game. You just skip boss key and some dungeon rooms, not more. So I think is all right. correct me if I'm wrong with this.

If 3 nuts is record, does somedoby have video of it?
Merry Chrismas =)
I mean it's GC and VC only. That's the problem
