2) If the above question is false, will SDA allow a death in the run?

intentional deaths are perfectly acceptable.

Okay, good. But now the real question is, will taking that much damage take more time than the cutscene itself. I'd probably be around 9-10 hearts at the time. If the Bolero of Fire cutscene is skippable as well, I could see it saving time assuming I don't collect any Heart Pieces between the two cutscenes.

Well, I guess I can continue with the run and further procrastinate typing up the adult route now. Cheesy
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
When do you get your last Heart Container before that? You could try to damage yourself without wasting much time on the way there. I'm not sure how you could do that as an adult, but still.
The last Heart Piece I would collect is at the bottom of Zora's Fountain.
Here is segment 9:

Enjoy.

I said "when" because I know next to nothing about collectables in OoT. Is that right before you go to the Forest Temple area?
Winnar.
So wait, are you doing spirit early? It could have helped for jabu's with the megaflip, and I'd also assume you are doing early shadow for hover boots and bombchus would make that easier.
I'm doing Spirit Temple early. But why would that help with the megaflip in Jabu-Jabu? I'm still doing that. And yep, I'm doing Shadow Temple early as well. But I'm not going to use Bombchu.
...?
Awesome work so far Mp16, keep it up.
Thanks In_Pieces. Smiley

Here's segment 10

This is my new favorite segment! Enjoy the new fastest Barinade fight!
Speed is the key.
Awesome segments so far.

Keep it up.
Thanks yauty. I hope it's not too hard seeing your 100% run being obsoleted.

Here's Segment 11.
And here's Segment 12.

Pretty soon I'll have to start working on the adult route. If anyone has some ideas to save time from the current adult route, let me know.
Some guy
I never thought I would ever be amazed by a Jabu-Jabu run again after seeing how good Manocheese's and Runnerguy's were, but, holy crap, that segment 10 was brilliant!  Shocked
I'm not your buddy, guay!
Yeah man, I knew you were good from your first 6 last time and just talking to you, but these segments are amazing! I've noticed a lot of little things here and there that shave off time. Example: segment 12 rolling and getting a good angle as you leave the fortress instead of backwalking immediately and doing sidehops later. The boss battle in Jabu Jabu is also a great example. Keep up the great work!

Oh, and I wanted to at least bring this up so it wasn't overlooked:

First jump. Would you be able to do that right after visiting the great fairy for magic to get the skulltula from the dirt patch down there? I don't know if it saves time over doing it later with the warp song or not. It would really only work if you were to savewarp after doing it, and I don't think that works out the way the route is currently written.

The second clip should be useful though.
We should start looking for shortcuts in temples using the megaflip.
That is, if you get naryu's love as a child. Although I don't know why not since you get bombchus in the Spirit Temple.

I'm sure it would be faster, seeing how he gets the Bolero as an adult.(correct me if I'm wrong.) And he could just fall into the lava to be warped back to the fairy fountain entrance. It could also subtract a heart, and I think he's going for the minuet cutscene skip.
Eeeeyah!
Would this trick have any use in a run?:

I know it would be useful in an MQ run but I'm still not sure about an OoT run.

The only reason why I think it would be useful is that you could skip doing the rest of the temple after grabbing the Mirror Sheild, then you do this trick and bomb hover jumpslash through the boss door.

It looks pretty hard to set up and get in that position...
Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
Wow, I remember that trick was in demand a long time ago when people were trying to do the Spirit Temple with just the Hookshot (the solution to that was much simpler). If you can get through the boss door without the key, then that trick will certainly save time (provided you have enough bombs).

If fire arrows skip is found in MQ for the spirit trial then it will be great for a no major skips run.  Otherwise, no real use.

Unfortunately, you'd need bugs to do that first clip and I'll need to use them in Dodongo's Cavern. I get bugs at the end of that segment though.

Second clip might be useful. The only problem is the heart piece in the crate I'd have to get first. After getting the Ice Arrows, I plan on megaflipping to that ledge with the HP in the crate (if possible, though I'm pretty sure it is). Then megaflipping to the ledge with the bean hole. But there might be a way to include it.

And as for the new hookshot glitch in the Spirit Temple, that might be useful. I'll mess with it and see how it can be used.

IIRC we still need the Hammer in the first room of the spirit trial, but I don't think we need Fire Arrows in the Spirit Temple regardless.
Finished Segment 13 and Segment 14

I found a new trick in the Anubis room that is pretty sweet.  8)
I was kind of upset that the last skulltula dropped deku seeds. But oh well, it barely cost any time.

Also, read the video description of the segment 13. I had a very very minor recording issue and I want to be absolutely sure it's okay with SDA.

More good work, Mp.
And dont worry about the recording split on segment 13, if you explain it to nate or mike or someone and just ask them to add 1 second to your time(the frames that were skipped probably equaled up to less than that, even)

As was said in one of the comments on the youtube page, the pokemon blue run is missing an entire segment(granted, the segment was only about a minute and a half IIRC and it was proven that the rest of the run is still legit)
Speed is the key.
I once got a pm from someone one youtube who said that you can damage twinrova with fire/ice arrows. I haven't tested this myself, but if it works, it might help you when you get to that point.

Yeah, I thought of that idea after Petrie showed you could use the fire/ice arrows against twinmold and do more damage than usual. I was going to test it when the time came. Too bad it doesn't do anything, I was looking forward to it. Oh well. But I'm still going to use the ice arrow trick with Bongo Bongo assuming it does something. I don't remember exactly what it did besides freeze the hands. I heard something about it saves time. Does anyone know how?
