Samoht, I would watch that run. I would watch any run done on OoT to tell you the truth...I just love to see the skill involved in these runs, regardless of how the game is actually completed.

Oh, and stricken, check out this part of DC:

You don't even have to do the bombchu hover, just do a megaflip like AKA said...saves time and bombchus. Oh, and it can be done without hanging off the edge, that was just sloppy. Actually probably one of my worst segments...

It's helpful to watch what a few other runners have done sometimes. I always checked the runs of Manocheese, fluffy_kitten, and where it applies, Yauty before going through practice runs.

I've been thinking...

If you read the MM thread recently, you'll know that the inverted stone tower trick, which me and probably other people hoped would be legal but probably wouldn't, is in fact legal (I promise I won't talk about this anymore petrie). So I thought if that was legal, then the chus from the well probably has a very high chance of being legal too, and would finally cut out goron braclet and sarias song from a SS. So how do we get these tricks verefied? Do we just PM Mike to review it? I really want some verification on this trick...

Is this some trick you do after entering the well (Lullaby skip/ perhaps?), or is the trick in question getting into the well early? I assume it is not the well early because it is simply a dive during the cucco cutscnene. Either way, could someone link us uneducated heathens to this iffy trick?

EDIT: I hope you do not mean the original well early trick. That seems like an obvious boundary violation...

After reading this, I'm still confused a bit about how RBA (/BA? Is there a difference?) works.. I think understand to a certain point, but there are some things I'm hoping you guys could explain to me.

Here's my understanding of it so far; please correct me if I'm wrong:

So you perform the stealing the rod glitch to enable different items on B. From there you perform the get the bottle on B glitch. After that, you equip something to C-Right (depending on what you want) and then catch something with your B bottle? I don't think that's right...
And on the website, it has a chart for all the tunics and boots for the goron mask. How does that work. How do you decide which you want if it's all associated with the goron mask?

Also.. Who figured this out?

Yea there's a difference between BA and RBA. RBA is catching things in the B bottle to edit stuff, while regular BA is traveling back and forth in time with certain items in order to put something new on B.

Ok, you can write the value of any of those modifiers at the top of the page to the tunics/boots slot. So lets say you catch a fairy. Fairy is 24.
It breaks 24 into binary, 0001 1000.
Now it writes that 0001 1000 to your tunics/boots. If you look at the chart I made for tunics/boots you would see that the 0001 will give you kokiri boots, and delete all other boots. the 1000 will delete all of your tunics, because the last 3 digits of that number are the "on/off" switches for your tunics. 0=off. the 1 is an unused byte so nothing happens when you turn that one to "on"

Now lets say you use the fairy in your B bottle (while you still have goron mask on C-right)

Empty bottle is 20, or 0001 0100. So now you will have the same boots as before, but now the 0100 means you will gain a Zora tunic in the process. Magical!

Another way to look at it if you don't like binary is take the number and break it down into powers of 2.
20 is (0*1) + (0*2) + (1*4) + (0*8) + (1*16). So only "4" and "16" are being used. Look at the goron mask chart again, you'll probably understand where these numbers are coming from. Sorry if this doesn't make sense or something

That happens when you save with anything else besides the kokiri sword on B, not a result of RBA.

well if you did do it with RBA, zora mask on C-right,

Empty, Fairy, or Blue Fire on B would delete the kokiri sword.

Kazooie was working on a BA SS but he said in the DKC3 105% topic that he was taking a break from it, and he didn't even get 1 try at it before so I guess he porbably wont do it. When I get my DVD recorder I think I might take a shot at it. Currently no one is working on a segmented BA run which is probably the most wanted run at the time. BA SS time should aim for sub 2:25 (2:20 if chus from the well is legal) and segmented can probably get a sub 1:50

I take break from it and but it don't mean I don't play OoT. When my holiday is over I will play OoT again. You can do OoT run if you want ZFG. But I will try it too when I decide so. If my DKC3 run come along nicely then I will move to OoT right away. My personal life things have come to my way now and I have get over of them most of them I think and I can continue my glitch research and running games. And I decided run DKC3 becuse I don't think so it doesn't take long to me that kind of run. How knows Grin

I love YaBB 1G - SP1!

Ok guys working hard (whipes sweat off of brow) I've actually had to do a few things differntly because i can't seem to get them the right way.

Here are my difficulties....

1. dodongos cavern - only problem is the bomb bag jump i CAN'T do it no matter what way i try

2. King zora skip - I can NOT get over his fat ass

3. Hyrule castle - I can not seem to blow myself up the way i am supposed to timing etc to knock myself onto the tiiiiny ledge, i'm always landing in water

4. Jabu-Jabu I can not seem to get Ruto on the ledge, I've done it 3x but....

5. I can't get onto the ledge, i can't figure out the bomb glitch OR the mega flip. I can do a mega flip but he hugs a corner and always barely misses no matter what angle =/

6. I can't do a quick spin attack I don't know how to do one and I have never been able to do it on purpose (done it a few times while trying to figure it out)

but after some work I managed to get to the shadow temple and actually COMPLETE it but i forgot to plant the bean as a kid and ultimatly had to =/ restart because I got STUCK lol was funny though gives me some more practice sessions.

but any advice help comments (non negative I'd appreciate. I know it's hard Smiley

but fuck a little help ain't bad no?)

If you have trouble with the Talon skip in Hyrule Castle, you should push the 2 Milk crates together and Megaflip off the crate instead of the damage boost way.

A tip for the Mega Flip to skip the Mini boss in Jabu Jabu, if you have trouble with the angle than you should just try to Mega Flip off the floating ledge thing.

As for how to do a quick spin, you just rotate the controller stick one time around and press B.

If you have trouble with the Talon skip in Hyrule Castle, you should push the 2 Milk crates together and Megaflip off the crate instead of the damage boost way.

no i forgot to plant the bean outside spirit temple so i couldn't get silver gauntlets so i couldn't move blocks so i couldn't get the bow and arrow =/ and ty

1. The megaflip to the bomb bag? Like in this video:

If that's it, then I would recommend practicing the megaflip elsewhere first, until you are more comfortable with it, and then try it in DC. I think in my DC segment comments I posted how I do it.

2. All I can say is learn either Link's breathing patterns or if you are able to see him through the gate, learn the timing of the bombs. That just takes a lot of practice.

3. Do you still have a bombchu? It's a lot easier with one and it becomes a lot like the Shadow Temple seam from the crate.

4. I like to start kind of far back and take two steps and right after Link's second step, just throw. The key is putting yourself in the right part of the platform to do this. If your two steps are not enough, move a little closer next time. If it's too close you'll probably fall off the edge.

Manocheese also had a good strategy for that. He walked right up to the edge of the platform...and as it hit its peak starting backwalking and instantly threw Ruto before he had even backwalked for a step or two. You could try that.

5. Go right to the corner at the edge. Now go to first person mode and put the right side of your sword icon and match it up with the right side of that opening with the blue switch where you are trying to get to. Now, backflip once...and turn 180 degrees and backflip again, dropping the bomb in the air. That should put you right back on the edge and in good position. I do all of this in my segment 16 run.

6. Neither can I, at least not consistantly on the N64 controller. Probably because all of my controllers are 10 years old and have been worn out by now. You shouldn't really need that in too many places in a run though.

Ok well I have now done spirit temple 2nd time =D and i'm trying to do the float to the wall and hookshot to the treasure chest, any tips or a video something that would help? i find it a bit challenging and I'm doing great thanks to you guys help!
