Sorry, just had to make this thread too :P. Which certainly begs the question of, "why didn't I just make that last thread about both?" I may never know. Anyways, same thing as the other thread, except backwards! What AI do you love the most? I don't really know how to structure the responses, so just go all out. Can be most advanced, funniest, coolest, greatest, cutest? o_O I don't care. If you love a certain AI, tell us about your fond love! I shall go first yet again.

I now love the AI in Half-Life. There's of course the scientists and stuff, but I now have a greater appreciation for the AI through tricking. Mostly because I enjoy watching the AI floating in mid-air from time to time ;D.

Ok, now post away! That rhyme kicked ass.

Most loved AI?
Doesn't exist if you ask me.
Which in a way...you kinda did.
Yoshi's eggs are at my mercy!
Uh ..

I like, uh ..., ... wow, I was going to make a witty sarcastic remark concerning a game with pathetic AI, but ones I was going to mention (Crash Bandicoot 2 bosses, Sonic Adventure 1 bosses) actually have none, nothing more than mere patterns encoded. So, I'm afraid I can't give teh_funny I intended.
I most love AI that I never have to think about. Super Mario Brothers is an example. The AI for the enemy movement was part of the enemy; it was not an issue of concern. That's good AI. 3d games mostly fail at this perfect AI integration with either completely useless enemies that are no threat(SM64) or enemies that make themselves threats by being annoying(see previous thread) even though Sunshine did a pretty good job, and it was one of Wind Waker's high points. It probably seems odd that the games I mention are not ones that are thought of as really having AI, but that's what makes their AI good.
Heaven or Hell! Let's Rock!
I love MGS3 Soldiers A.I.
They were smart...well...annoying...damn...wrong topic...

I knew bad things would come when I made this topic >_<;

They're very adept at hearing footsteps

Does Snake read their mind, or are they saying that out loud?

I don't get it.
I always wondered why in MGS 2 all the terrorists had Russian accents, but in 3 they didn't? Which is wiered because MGS 3 actually took place in Russia.

Anyway, I didn't think the AI in games like Tales of Symphonia and X-Men legends were that bad.
(Thats the best example I can come up with.)
Haley Joel Osment in A.I.

In another note, I was actually in a few races with him in high school during cross country. And my best friend slide tackled him in soccer.
Hmmm...he hasn't been in movies for awhile...now I know why.
DMC3,ZOE2 and Xenosaga 2. Am I crazy?
I think Halo series has good AI. I also like the way the way enemies behave in DMC3 DMD. They aren`t that smart but they can kick your ass if you aren`t careful.
like cranky kong, but not as nice
i like the creature in black and white - mainly because you can slap it about a bit Smiley

Hmm, I'll have to consider that for the other thread. The creature never did what I wanted him to, so I bitch-slapped him all day, or just left him taking care of my own village. For some reason especially the monkey annoyed me to no end, can't quite recall why. Maybe just something in the animations. Or the way the villagers would just sit around, doing nothing, but demanding everything. Apart from obliterating enemy or neutral villages, I mostly threw around villagers or slapped my creature for not doing exactly what I wanted it to do as an annoyance relieve.

As for most loved AI, I loved the AI in Doom 1 & 2. I really loved to just walk around, make them attack eachother and watch as the mayhem commenced. All the times I just loaded up the last level of Doom 2 and watched the in fighting... Love it.
TIOLET!
I actually liked the AI in RE4 very much. Not too stupid and not the "cheating" kind either, although it can probably be discussed how much it managed to resemble human behaviour Roll Eyes
I think the funniest AI is GTA:San Andreas. I could watch that for hours (the gangs, the conversations, the police chasing people other than me, seeing a cop jack a car from another cop, etc.)

I love the traffic on the Las Venturas freeways. People driving along at ridiculous breakneck speeds without regard for what's around them, just like they do here. It's a good statement on driving.

Killer Chobocos don't get any chocolate.
THE SECRET AI IN FABLE!!!!!

Seriously...Has any of you seen the school? They had to remove it from the game because the students did, well... unmentionable things to each other... just a little AI quirk I guess

Ehm.. like what?
PwNzRd!
Paperboy!
sda loyalist
Best AI is easily the brown hulks on Descent.

They follow you through a level silently, making sure to go through doors you leave open so they don't have to open them by themselves. Then when you turn around to split your path, BOOM! Missiles in face.

Fantastic AI.
Beep bitch. Beep.
I'll never get bored of toying around with the AI in Metal Gear Solid.. Grin
I like to use the stealth camo, appear in front of the enemy, then dissapear again. Then, toss them around while they look for me.

Uh, no. There's nothing smart about the DMC3 enemies on DMD, all they have going for them is their ridiculous damage resistance that requires you to hack away at each of them for a minute straight, unavoidable DTing that gives them even more of a ridiculous handicap and the ability to kill you in 2-3 hits even from max lenght lifebar.
Stupor is as Stupor Does
I would have to agree with Lag.Com,

The Descent AI was fantastic. I don't think any game has ever reproduced a game with more diverse and actually Intelligent AIs.

It is the only game I have played where the AI bots did teamwork more than the simple lets all fire at the same guy.
