I'm a maybe at this point for next weekend, especially if getting hotels and stuff is involved. I just had my parents up for a week and spent a lot of money.
October 10th is also an option, raptor. But maybe some other time?
Kefka, if it's just me, you, and Cosmyk, we should be able to meet up at my friends house. He's got two nice areas we could set up consoles / pcs. What about your house Kefka? Also, since it's Friday, the UK campus wouldn't be an option until way late in the day, so it's out.
Sorry, got to work that day from 7:30 a.m to 3:30 p.m, not to mention I'll be getting Hyrule Warriors right afterwards. (which I'll try my hand in speed runnig it. ;D) I'll also apologize for not keeping track of this thread, been busy with work at Kroger and other things; also my schedule is different every week since my two days off are different from the week before.
Noted, raptor. If (well, when) we do something like this again, it'll most likely be a Saturday (and Sunday?) thing.
That'd probably be best, Kefka. Is 4 days sufficient heads up? If not, I'll ask my friend tomorrow if we can use his place Friday. He works 9ish to 6ish.
rip my bread. But that'd be cool, stealin.
np Boom. Since I know there's a few people around here now, I'll try to plan another thing like this sometime with a bit more notice. Thanks for starting the thread
I think we could just postpone entirely and find one date where we all could make it. That might work better in the end regardless. Have a good old Kentucky'a'thon.
Postponment sounds good. Note that a Saturday still technically works for me, it's just that I would't be able to start making the drive 'till 12:30 PM or so.
More people is better, I agree. But we can meet more than once.
Both Cosmyk and I can't do later October, so November is probably our best option to meetup this year. Any later and I'd say we just wait for the second ECSM (East Coast Speedrunners Marathon). Though after looking at a calendar, there's really just 2 weekends that work for me:
Saturday, November 15th Saturday, November 22nd
If either of those work for (most) everyone, we'll set something up. Should also think up a new name, since we're starting to reach a little beyond just Norther Kentucky.
I leave the country November 11 and won't return until around Christmas time. I could actually do later October now. But I don't need to actually be there when everyone else meets either.
I got a vacation on the week November 15, (its the week of my birthday.), so I might be able to go to a meetup. I don't mind a new name, though I'm not very opinionated on things.
Helllooo Everyone! First, I want to ensure you all that I'm not a spammer- I also haven't been on a discussion board in a long time, so if this is not an appropriate way or place to ask for this kind of help, please let me know. I am a Cincinnati resident and a senior at Northern Kentucky University who is looking to produce a documentary on speed running. My goal right now is to build to AGDQ 2015, but I am flexible with taking the narrative in a different direction, as long as I stick to my goal of studying and giving proper kudos to this community. My questions are these: 1) Are any of you [runners in the Kentucky/Ohio region that have been responding to this thread] open to the idea of being part of a speed running documentary? 2) Do any of you participate in marathons or are any of you planning on participating in one in the near future? I appreciate any help or advice that can be given =)

Yes and yes. I've ran games at multiple online marathons and SGDQ (and now coming up AGDQ). I'll help gladly. I went to UK btw. So hi.
I'm fine with whenever btw almost. My house would be a decent place to gather up, just everybody decide on a date and we will go from there. I'm not available the weekend of the 17th, or on Halloween.
Hard for me to tell this far ahead of time, but they should be good. (or at least one of them). Especially if we meet earlier in the day. (I usually play clubs late at night on Saturdays.)
