Hey everyone, I've been practicing a NOLF run for the past half-a-week, I've looked on the Run List and I've only seen NOLF2, I downloaded it and it's an okay run but there are quite a lot of mistakes, I don't have the game so I can't run it though, so I'm going to try 1 instead.

Basically, I'd just like to know the specifics of doing a run, I've read the FAQ and everything, but if I do this it'll be my first time even ATTEMPTING a run.

So I just need help with what program to record with, Fraps works okay for me but I get FPS spikes, and other programs do not record audio (no Stereo Mix option for me, SoundBlaster Audigy SE) and also Timing issues.

My idea is, I do one mission and all the scenes, then I save and then I load up, and that will be a segment. I'm not going to use Save Warps, because I don't like that kind of stuff.

Also, I'm sure two other people made NOLF runs, why aren't they on SDA?

I'm sure I wrote this pretty jumbled, sorry, I'm tired and it's late, but thanks if you read it and help me out!

Unless save warps skip large portions of the game (except for backtracking) you should probably use them. I guess it'll count against your run if you don't, considering it could have been done faster. If they mainly skip backtracking... Pretty pretty please use them!

I believe the Save-Warping only works for skipping the text portions that you have to sit through in the Tactics Training levels, the announcer talks, you save, load, open the door, bam. But I'm not sure how it works exactly.

When you post it on SDA don't they put "Best Time without Save Warping"?

save warping is no longer a separate category, although your run will be considered segmented obviously.

Ah, thanks, I wasn't sure.

I'll practice save-warping then :P.

I've downloaded, all-in-all 36.5GBs of Speedruns from SDA, I've been watching them and I've learned quite a lot. To look for glitches, bugs, well-hidden shortcuts, things that the designers aren't aware of...
