Obey the Daleks or be Exterminated! Riiiiiiight...
Only problem level I see might be Trouble in the Tropics.  That and that one mission before the Safecracker mission (I forget what the name of the mission in question was), because stealth is emphasized, and in the case with the latter, one part of it involves having to not kill anybody or the mission's over.
I can only verify NOLF1, didn't even play NOLF2 yet and stil have to finish Strife

Did some more recon today.

Rendezvous in Hamburg - 3:16.0
Visit to Santa's Workshop - 34.0
A Tenous Lead - 11:27.2
H.A.R.M's Promise - 39.9

Rendezvous in Hamburg is not that hard. The only problem is the lack of ammo you have.

A Tenous Lead is a bit longer and more annoying due to me having to do some "real-time weapon change". And the stairs are horrible.

And I have started to wonder if wether the SALW or an SMG is better. The SALW can kill enemies in one shot if you hit correctly. However, so can an SMG. If you fail with a SALW it usually takes longer to down an enemy due to charge times. And when choosing equipment you get full ammo of all types for the weapon you choose. But there is a better weapon... Which I haven't been able to choose on any mission this far. I want a Bakalov Corrector, dammit!

(Ooh! National day today! On 6/6/6! Hehe...)
Obey the Daleks or be Exterminated! Riiiiiiight...
Bacalov Corrector.  Oh boy, such a small gun with the damage of a rocket Evil

I think I remember having it available at Alpine Intrigue(sp?), and I found it useful for sniping and blowing enemies off of bridges XD

Keep in mind though, that at Such is a Nature of Revenge, you cannot bring any guns or gadgets of your choice there, otherwise it would make the final boss battle there too easy (I once cheated for an AK-47 and Phosphorus ammo, and a single shot put him away instantly O_o).  I suppose if Monolith Productions would have allowed that, then the last chapter would be too damn easy.
i love nolf 1 and 2.but 1 is easier to run
Obey the Daleks or be Exterminated! Riiiiiiight...
I highly doubt that 1 is easier to run, since there are several missions in the game that require you avoid detection, and if you get detected and the alarms go off, that attempt then gets screwed up.  The worst stealth section being the last level in Trouble in the Tropics.

I have now decided that I should revive this project after it getting a summer break. After being home over summer my computer broke down completely and then uni started up again making me quite busy. At least I have one update for you waiting for NOLF2. After an inquiry I found out that it should be in the timing queue. I do not know when it will have gotten thorugh that, though. I will try to come with new NOLF1 times this weekend, however.
4NT
I do not have a large update for NOLF, but I can say that I am now in the process of aggressively attacking the levels and record when I feel I have a good route. So I now have recorded the first mission, The Assignment, with a time of 51.4 seconds according to the mission stats screen.

Also the game is not meant to be run in an FPS of about 400. So the game cannot be played in 640x480 on my computer unless FRAPS is recording (and limiting the frame rate). Interestingly enough the run speed appears to be slightly faster when recording in 30 FPS than when recording in 60 FPS.
Obey the Daleks or be Exterminated! Riiiiiiight...
Keep on going.  I'll be looking forward to downloading your NOLF 2 run once it gets posted on SDA.

Are you still going to do NOLF 1 with all the gadgets and weapon available already or are you doing it with equipment becoming available as they are already gotten?
4NT
Hmm... Well, it is faster with customized equipment since then I can choose weapons (Bacalov Corrector FTW!) and equipment (useful for some missons so I wont have to fetch them in it). Unless a default equipment run is requested I shall probably do it with customized.
Hi, I'm thinking of doing a speedrun for this, but I've got a couple of questions first.

- What difficulty are you playing on?
- What do you record? Do you leave/cut out loading screens/equipment selection/debriefing?

I've never done a speedrun before so it's all pretty new to me. Thanks in advance Smiley
Obey the Daleks or be Exterminated! Riiiiiiight...
I've only been able to download the first three segments today before I had to head off to College for the day.  Now that I'm back from there, I'll be downloading the rest of the run.

Right now I'm shocked about the part in the first segment where the ninjas didn't even know where the heck you were, due to your jumping and not making any noise.  Also a good close call situation in the second segment (where your health was almost completely gone Shocked ).

Today I took some more time running NOLF until I figured that I should fix some more space on my hard drives. I did complete Misfortune in Morocco in 12:44.5. There was a potential shortcut at the end that I missed so I might improve it later, though. I also completed Requiem for a Spy in 1:59.1 after many tries of trying to get it under 2 minutes.

And as for the questions... Depends on if you want to run NOLF1 or NOLF2. I run both games on Normal. I suspect you mean NOLF1, though. I run it chapter by chapter meaning that individual chapters can be improved later. Recording starts at the title screen to show which mission I run, what difficulty I run it on and what equipment I choose. I end recording after mission stats screen so that the in-game timer time is recorded too. Also, when recording run the game in 640x480 or Radix will send his minions after you. I chose to record at 30fps since that appears to be the most stable framerate to record at since NOLF does not like being run at high frame rates.

Just finished watching NOLF2. It seems a LOT easier than NOLF1, in both ways, speed-wise and difficulty wise.

NOLF... It's been so long since I played the game, I can't remember a lot of the levels. all I know for sure, though, is trying to avoid teh Unity 'Seminar' things for new weapons... aside from that, all I can say is good luck.
Obey the Daleks or be Exterminated! Riiiiiiight...
I was never able to do the whole 'planting a bug.' thing, but the speedrun made that seem too easy, and I feel ashamed having to use a damn cheat to skip that part of chapter 7, let alone playing it on easy  Cry

Can't wait to see all the nasty 'don't be detected or you're done for' scenes get torn apart, HidoiMidoriRyuu  Cheesy
Obey the Daleks or be Exterminated! Riiiiiiight...
A thought just hit me this moment.  What about the exclusive missions for the PS2 and GOTY PC edition of NOLF?  As far as I know, the missions are as follows:

PS2 Version:  3 Nine Years ago parts, accessed at pretty much every point where Cate gets knocked unconsious by Magnus Armstrong (In Unexpected Turbulance, A Tenuous Lead, and The Indomitable Cate Archer).  Each of the Nine Years ago parts requires stealing key items, then heading for the exit.  These missions are a more nightmarish equivalent to the 'don't get your cover blown' scenes, where getting caught by anyone means great alerting, and eventually getting screwed over when the police catch you Angry

GOTY Edition:  Rest and Relaxation is available after the original 15 chapters have been completed.  Part of the chapter takes place in a volcano, and I'd say it's fairly simple to do for the most part, once the dangers and traps have been noted down.
4NT
I do not have a PS2 so no running the PS2 exclusives (for the time being). I do however have the GOTY edition so Rest and Relaxation will be included.

And a note about the chapters. There will be 26 parts of the run due to the evil training missions that must be included for the sake of completion.

"From the murky depths I come."
Yes, after an overly long rest Cate Archer is back. And her trip to Berlin was a long series of frustration and slaughter. With the subtlety of a tauren rogue she sneaked into the compound and freed Dr. Schenker only for him to be kidnapped during the trip home.

Yes, today I resumed my NOLF run and completed 3 more chapters. Also, my graphics driver now enforces V-sync on it, meaning I can do training runs in 640x480 without the game going haywire. Today was hellish with many hours spent on Berlin by Night and 135 GB of failed attempts.

And now for the final times:
Berlin by Night - 7:52.0
Unexpected Turbulence - 2:53.7
Care to Explain - 0:28.6

Berlin by Night is hell. Tonnes of guards running amok and they hit pretty hard. Also, they like shooting explosive barrels. (I dunno what they load those with. Baking soda and lemon juice? Considering the oh-so-large explosions...)

Unexpected Turbulence is easy. Got under my target time the first attempt.

Care to Explain. I did fail once due to hitting myself with the grenade.
A NOLF run would be cool!
Cool that you are making a run of NOLF, its such a good game. Are you running the game after having completed it? So you have access to all the equipment and weapons? If so, that sounds like cheating. You should only use what you have available at that time.
