I'm not even near perfect at punctuation in my native language, let alone english. Roll Eyes (And I will never ever set punctuation inside of quotes no matter how correct it is, you know, like "this.")

Now only the "their, there, they're" problem remains.

Thanks; too many n00bs in A LOT of forums these days...

And by the way, what do you mean by "I've done something about it"..?

Edit: Okay, I noticed... quoting a n00b made me discover the value of typing properly.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!

Their is used to refer to a person whereas there is used to refer to a place.  They're is a shortened version of "they are" and refers to multiple people.

I don't get what you mean by "done something about it."  Does it automatically get changed to "you" now?

*clicks post and finds out*

*gets message that says "You can not use 'v' on this forum. You fail at English."*

Oh, I see.

*changes it to "what you mean"*

Hm, I wonder if it'll let me say that Richard Ureta did an SMB3 speed run...

*gets the same message*

*changes it back to Ureta*

Dammit, we're not even allowed to use initials for names anymore?

*tries to post again*

Omg, I can't even post what the message is that I got?  *changes it to a "v" so I'll be able to post this*

you can put it in quotes like "u" just fine .... And capital U is fine too.

But if I catch people abusing that, I'll probably just delete the post. And if someone keeps doing it, I'll just ban them.

Are you sure about that?  I could've sworn it gave me the message for the capital U and the "u" in quotes.  *does a test post*

Edit: Strange, maybe it had something to do with the period and the 's.  More tests...

U.

'u'

Edit 2: *is confused*

Are you sure you didn't change the rules since I made that post?  Maybe I'm not remembering correctly and there was another "u" in that post also and I changed 2 different "u"s at once, but I'm pretty sure changing it to a v was the only change I made between the last 2 times I tried to post that.
Not going to school today
"You can not use 'v' on this forum. You fail at English."*

That is the funniest thing in the history of mankind.  I want to see more forums with this feature. Smiley
Yoshi's eggs are at my mercy!
I shan't be having that problem anytime soon. Although I do have to question why no one ever uses semicolins; it seems so sophisticated to do so. Wink

(Yes this post was to point out that you can use "n't" at the end of words besides "can, would, and should." Also semicolins never hurt anyone.)
Sleeping Terror
I don't use semicolins; I use semicolons. ~_^
...
Now we just need to eliminate the incredibly annoying "your/you're"/"their/there/they're" error.

>_>; Whoops! lol.

Well, I'll go ahead and do it.

They're - They are
There - pointing out a certain location.
Their - showing possession.

Your - possession
You're - you are

Yeah. Yeah! Totally!!!! Why don't we also administer a language test before we allow new people to even post on this board?

Maybe even set a lowest standard for how ugly people are allowed to be to post here?

Stupid.

U- rool, radicks

thx U!

Funny, most forums need this feature. I'm sick of it as much as you are.
