A lot of pinball games are linear enough that they could be run from starting your first ball up to reaching a specific goal.  There could be a run of Kirby's Pinball Land to beat Dedede once, (I don't remember the first Pokemon Pinball very well) Pokemon Pinball Ruby and Sapphire either to beat or to catch Rayquaza, Mario Pinball Land either to beat Bowser or to collect all the stars, or Metroid Prime Pinball to beat the bigarse metroid or whatever it is.

I doubt it, but would there be any interest in any of these runs?  If I were to do them, very very obviously there would be mistakes, and I doubt I could end up making a run that looks smooth.  To be honest I think my best strategy for any of these runs (since I know the games fairly well) would just be to try again and again and again until by luck I complete the run relatively smoothly.

If running these games would be a bad idea then I hope people will tell me so, but would anybody be interested in any of these?  Does anybody have a pick for which game I should try first?

I'd be interested in seeing a run.  I'd vote for Kirby's Pinball Land if it's half as crazy as Kirby's Block Ball. Wink
Since Kirby's Pinball Land is my favorite game out of these I think I will try it first.  I'll discuss it in the Older Consoles forum.

I think I have eliminated Pokemon Pinball Ruby and Sapphire from my list of possible speedruns.  To beat Rayquaza from the start of the game would take at least a half hour, and unless if I captured a really cool Pokemon the closest things to highlights other than the finale would be two very boring one-and-a-half-minute duels with Kyogre.  Plus even being practiced at the game my shots are nowhere near consistent.  Actually, a better speedrun of this game would be individual runs of all five bosses.  The way you beat a boss is to beat them before time runs out.  This would be much more exciting than a long beginning-to-Rayquaza run.  But I'm not planning to do this either.  I did do a strategy-type video of this game and am trying to get it on vgmr.us, but it is doubtful the video will ever get transferred from VHS to computer.

Mario Pinball Land would be a huge undertaking to speedrun, and it probably isn't that good of a game to start with.  A Metroid Prime Pinball speedrun would definitely be interesting, but it would also be a huge undertaking and I will never have the equipment currently necessary to record DS.  That leaves me with Kirby's Pinball Land Cheesy my favorite of the four to begin with.  But man am I rusty.  I am discussing my hopes and dreams to run this great game under Older Consoles.
