Ninja Gaiden Run

I love Pirates and Ninja's.

I will do a ninja gaiden run , all i need is the info on what i need to do record it.

I already know where every thing is and what enimes there are and the fastest things to do to beat certain aspect of the game. i beaten the game 5 times already, 2 times on normal and 3 times on hard.

I realized how easy i could do it when my friend asked me fo some help on his game of ninja gaiden, he was stuck on the second mission. i beat the game in 2 hours after helping him, without using any ressurection spells or potions. but i know i could do it again with no mistakes and half the time.

soo, any help and i could do it.

And you're in luck, because this faq will give you almost all the info you could need to record.

Good luck with the run, there've been so many attempts it's not funny, but I'd love to see a speedrun.

I love Pirates and Ninja's.

most likely single sitting.
but if i have to, i will segment the single sitting into 3 parts..

part 1: the beggining to he point where Ryu enters the monosary.

Part 2: From the monosary to the point where he has all 4 statues and is able to go to the tower.

Part 3: from the towers base, till the end of the game.

i can do it all in one sitting, but if i segment it, i could probly get to the poit in which poeple will enjoy watching.

there are several moves that i could use, i know most of them that will work and which ones will kill certain enimes faster, so if i do this, you will get to see a wide variety of combo's and attacks as well as many different weapons at use. I watched the devil may cry 3 and it was pretty impressive but was kinda boring to watch someone repeativly use the same combo's.

the difference in the combo's of Ninja Gaiden in the fact that you can kill an enemy with a single combo, regardless of what you style it. well it does depend on the enemy of course, if you are fighting ninja's it could take 2 or three combo's, but foot soldiers for sure will be a target to practice on.

I already mapped out everything im doing yesterday, to which is that faster locations to travel to and fastest way to get there, if i roll + jump constantly, it not only gets me where im going faster, but dodges bullets and shurikens.

The bonus of the game includes that fact that you dont gain any sort of experince, thus no need to kill all your enemies. Instead you could just run through most of the levels just doging them, making the run even faster.

Once you enter a certain level you can buy a inzanumi Drop, which is a grapple technique that is slower than a combo, but kills ninja's and Heavy Footmen in one swift motion.

The weapons i will use will be my trusty Dragon sword, Demon Blade and bladed numchucks. i will use the warhammer, yes, but only when required on certain places such as walls to break through and such.

tommarow i will do a calculation of the exact weapons, chests and rooms i will need to out of my way to find, that way i could easily go through the game. I will also calculate the exact amount of potions to buy and upgrades. i know i will fully upgrade my dragon sword and demon blade, but the numchucks are only good against the undead zombies, so they will not under-go an upgrade. i will not collect scarabs nor will i bother the shop keep for anything but what is required.

i bought the strategy guide for further information on any tactics i could use to keep me in the game without troublesome deaths and what not. I know that you will find a ressurection scroll withint he start of the game, and i intend to keep it, i usually restart the game everytime my character dies, and use the scrolls at the end battle. but i shouldn't have too much trouble, the game is simple enough.

only if you build it the water temple of Oot to scale, and have ninja's jumping around and pirates surround the waters...lmao

the only difference of easy and hard is that the enemies do more damage, faster attack and take more damage.

i will attempt my run on easy, unless someone sets my rules for my run down. umm, i wont do a 100% run yet... that requires timed battles and i even still haven't finished 100%, lol.

tell you right now, three major attacks that kick ass for easy enemy wins:
1- Flying Swallow (diving into the enemies swords first, if timed right, can decaptate instantly.)

2- Gleaming Blade (a circled motion attack, very powerfull and attacks multiple enmenies with alot of damage. loved against boss fights)

3- Windmill Shiruken (a windmill shiruken, 2 throws to kill a normall footman. example of power: i jump in the air, hurl the WS at target2, then combo target1. I finish the combo before target 2 can recooperate then leap in the air, hurl the WS at target 2 again, this time killing him. then combo target 3. repeat if neccesary against multiple footmen.)

so let me ask for 3 things:

1) someone set my rules. (ie my max time, minimum requirements and collections, ect.)

2) do you want me to save and hand in the non-master saved runs?

3) Anything i need to know or anytihng i need to do before i make the run.

1) Just go as fast as you can, the max here is around 7 hours but if it goes that high on this game... collect the minimum number of things required to go through the game in the fastest time you can manage... and single-segment runs are in a seperate catagory to segmented runs

2) If the 'master' run is better just send the best one in, no need for multiple vids and the others won't be put up.

3) Not as far as I know that I haven't already said!

sweet, alright. Im trying to get everything set up for the run, i just gotta get the equiptment and then i'll be set. i assume ill get it within the week.

However, it's of Ninja Gaiden Black; I don't know of any speedrun videos of the original. bigalski did one of NGB normal (http://www.iberianwarrior.com/bigalski_ngb.htm), which will be similar, but probably not similar enough to be very helpful.

Anyway, good luck. We've had a lot of NG and NGB threads in the past but none of them ever came to anything.

I was wondering about that, too. I haven't had a chance to watch either, yet, but since the file sizes on the top one are bigger I'm guessing it's just a normal playthrough.

[edit] OK, the top one is evidently a Karma (i.e. top score) run.

alright~!, i watched all the video fromt hat guy, they are pretty good...

he did some good techniques to increase his runs, but i noticed that he could have done different things to make his run go faster, so my comfidence in the fact i could do it a bit faster has increased.

To be honest, I dont think it'll be finished by mac or by any of the other guys who intended to speedrun Ninja Gaiden. No offense to those who had intention of finishing their run but all of them posted for 2-3 weeks and for various reasons could not go through it. Our only hope is Kyoiori.

If he were to submit I would hope that it would be a new run. As much as I enjoyed watching his videos, there were a good deal of mistakes (considering it was segmented and all). I'm not saying I could do any better....yet...but I know K isn't our only hope. There are others out there. They'd just rather get insane karma scores instead.

ALSO, if I were to run it at some point, it would most likely be of Black since it's harder. But maybe a Very Hard original version would be in order if that became too frustrating.
