For Fun! For GLORY!!
But still, losing minutes over a cheap death doesn't sound good, so Hard might be better.

I'll look him up too, see how he got a sub 42 game time, cuz that sounds insane.

It doesn't to me if he's manipulating the AI to follow him and not come at him.  The AI in similar areas to the NES version act exactly the same, and spawn at the same locations.  So that can definitely be used to your advantage.

EDIT:
Saw the Miiverse post.  He said he did it on Easy.

I bet. So really it comes down to boss RNG.

I know there's some on the Moon level on where you can hit the rat, and where he teleports in. And Amazon on how quick you can hit the stone head 3 times. I still dunno if Dracula does each of his 3 transformations twice or if its random, cuz if so, avoiding getting bat will help.
So, something I found out while comparing real time vs ingame time with other players: Real Time on PC is a giant mess! It seems completely dependant on how good your pc is/how low your settings are set to. Some people manage to get a real time that is lower than the ingame time, while for others it's up to 4 minutes higher than ingame time.

So, either this game should be run on console, or we use ingame time for the PC version.

Wait what? How is that even physically possible? ô.o

Guess Broly and I are the lucky ones. Tongue
Well on PC, when you beat the Himalayas Boss, you get "OMG! WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?" instead of Stage Clear, so that's a bonus Tongue

Perhaps there's a way to manipulate RNG with bosses, particularly the final boss.

For the Amazon, the boss spawns in a set pattern from what I can tell.

For the Moon boss, you can hit it when he comes down in the center but you have to be precise.  Also, standing in the middle is the best way to tackle the fight because of where he spawns in.

A speed tip:  If you let go of your pogo about halfway up and then re-pogo you can move quicker (I call it Quick Pogo).  It's really hard to do with Hard Pogo (especially on Extreme where it's mandatory), but with it off it's probably really easy since you'd probably have more control.  But this technique is really a requirement on the Amazon if you want to not get hit.

As for the timer, it's probably glitched, like collectibles on PC and PS3 and like viewing the leaderboards on Wii U, which locks up your system if you go to the right or left twice from the default leaderboard.

You're kind of required to do them in spots with low hanging spiked ceilings. I do it in Transylvania and the Moon to cut out on me going up to high spots.

Sub 40 real time should be very possible on Expert, especially with good boss luck. I just had a run at 45:34 real time with 3 costly deaths (2 in Amazon, 1 on Dracula). Game time it's a 44:53.
For Fun! For GLORY!!
How'd you get that close of times? My RTA and Game are usually 5 minutes apart? Are you on PC?
Yeah, I'm on PC.
So good boss luck would be...

Amazon:  4 pillars at once
Transylvania:  Sideways fire and rotating mirrors
Mines:  Roll Race
Himalayas:  Trying to make sure it doesn't just directly up
Moon:  Spawning in one of the 3 center areas
Vesuvias:  Green Dragon, then Giant Yellow(?)

These are just my guesses from playing.

Another thing to consider is Bonus Rounds, aka how to avoid them.  You don't want to have a 7 in front of your money total.

I think Dracula always uses each of his three transforms twice, but the order is mixed up. Unless someone has had it happened otherwise.
I've had some fights where I haven't seen the Bats.

In my experience against the Mines boss, he does each attack twice. So ideally on higher difficulties Round 1 and 2 would be the boulders and Round 3 and 4 would be the balls.

For the Moon boss, you want the bottom or middle spawns.

Dracula's fastest phase is definitely the dragon.

Really? Then I've been getting bad RNG. Could difficulty factor?

Because when I was fighting Glomgold on the plane, playing on hard, he dropped a lot of Beagles. Took too long.
I don't think I've had Glomgold fire two bombs in a row, so the best luck we could probably hope for there is an alternating pattern.
For Fun! For GLORY!!
Yup. I think he only doubled up on Beagles once in my PB. I just need better boss RNG now to get a good time
I had Glomgold do 2 bombs in a row to me today on Extreme.  After that it was BB > BB > Bomb > BB > Bomb
For Fun! For GLORY!!
So he can do back to back bombs...
Well I had to abort a run because of terrible bomb placement. It went on the EDGE of the upper wing...twice! D:
I'm running through Himalayas right now, and I really think it would faster to get the heart container first (assuming one would get it) then go down then up, to the right and back down to Bubba.
For Fun! For GLORY!!
So get the lower one first? Could be. It'd be safer if anything.
Also, got Wsplit so I can do legit RTAs now. Tongue

It wouldn't make any sense to use in-game time on PC if it is so sporadic, so it looks like we will all be using real-time.

Thank goodness I have the PS3 version Tongue

Yeah I think RTA would be the way to accurately measure. But since load times I think are different for PC and consoles, they might need to be different.

Done with runs for tonight. Keep getting trolled in the Himalayas. :\
