I found a really cool video of Nintendo Revolution here:

http://www.nintendo.com/pop_video.vm?url=http://media.nintendo.com/mediaFiles/1gU-iPnJmxfd1N2RUaeDUUbGZBz--ozJ.mov&width=600&height=420

Watch and enjoy. 8)

DMC3,ZOE2 and Xenosaga 2. Am I crazy?
That video was pretty cool. If Nintedo can pull it off I´m glad. Nintendos consoles always drop prices really soon so I can get it some day. (After PS3)
Wario Land!!!11!11!1
From what I heard for the PS3, it's 80% graphics and 20% for the rest. Unless you like MGS2, It shouldn't be too great.
Rock on, Earthbound. Rock on.
The PS3's lok is doing nothing for me. It's nearly twice the size of a PS2, it looks like the system got obese during the production line, probably because of Sony's complete lackadasial approach to the console race (PSP vs. DS: PSP? STRONG release, specification junkie, beloved by all. DS? Crappy launch, delayed killer ap, skeptical reaction for unorthodox elements. Now? PSP is still expecting its killer launch to carry it through, while the DS has not only gotten cheaper, if I recall correctly, but has become nearly undisputed as the portable console of choice by reviewers. Good job Sony. And people say Nintendo drops the ball...). Also, the controller looks like old PC control pads, which were uncomfortable then, let alone now. Ugh. *NOT* looking forward to the PS3 in any way shape or form.

360 actually has managed to have me interested. Good looking games, an actually attractive system that seems smaller than their previous iteration, and mostly kept the old design while making it smaller and sleeker (I don't care what you say, I LIKE the Xbox pad. reminds me of the DC...). Microsoft has done their homework, and Sony just seems to be system-pushing now.

Revolution though looks SEXY. I love its simple design, and the fact that it's SO small (Nintendo has been pretty much the only developer to actually make their systems consistently smaller, the one hiccup I can think of being the SNES > N64 transition, not counting miniaturized versions of older consoles, like the model 2 PS2 or NES, etc.). Also, the controller is a work of art. I can't wait to get that puppy in my hands. Also, the Virtual Console concept is pure genius. Never again will I say "I wish I could get this game, but I don't want to emulate it, and I don't have the system or the money or the time to find it."

Summary: Nintendo ftw. Microsoft too if I have the money to get it. Boo on Sony, and I hope SOMEONE releases an old shell PS3 controller ASAP after launch so I'll never have to suffer through the sonyrang. I know I'll have to suffer the PS3 itself as my friend is a Sony junkie, but if I can get a decent controller, I'll live.

As for PSP vs DS, I already mentioned that. I've seen my friend's PSP. he uses it as an MP3 player now. DS definitely.
I agree that the Revolution looks best. And yeah, the PS/3 controllers look dorky, but they're probably good for people with big hands. Also the current controllers have that annoying thing underneath the R & L buttons that sticks out and gets in the way of my fingers.
Yeah, but how many gamers have big hands? :-/
Really... 'cause I don't.
I'm gonna do the same exact thing I did with every other console. Wait 2-3 years, scooping up all the incredibly cheap PS2 and Gamecube used titles, and wait to see what kind of Killer Aps are going to make it on which consoles (I'm such a Capcom fanboy, my loyalty will most likely follow where they go). That is when I buy a new console.
i was thinking too that.. now the little fat kid that always paly game liek .. always and see this control.

he will say to im: " Wtf is this new controler... i need to Move ? shit that, i dotn wanna move "

The problem wit the PS3 is that no one has yet to be able to play it. There is the same problem with Rev but not as big because it is so original. XBOX 360 plays just like XBOX IMO. No one knows how PS3 will play. The games that are released for it aren´t that promising (but neither did the XBOX 360 games but they turned out good) Killzone 2 will suck. That is a fact. (Killzone is Killzone even with better graphics) The thing is there aren´t any "big names" coming at PS3 launch.
I like the Revolution the most, the motion sensative controler is awesome
...
I skipped this console generation, and was completely uninterested in the next. Then I saw the Revolution controller (pictures of it, duh). Then I read about the Revolution and its controller. Then I heard it will play Gamecube discs. Then I heard you can download old NES and SNES and even N64 games and play them on it. I am now almost completely sold. After launch, I will wait a bit to see if it works as advertised, and if it does I will definitely get one. Sony and Microsoft have nothing of interest, all they did was make their consoles more shiny looking and that's it. (I mean the graphics, duh)
PwNzRd!
PS2 had a much better staple of games than GC and Xbox, but will that change with the new systems? I think not. Screw it, I am sticking with PC games.
Rock on, Earthbound. Rock on.

We have a pretty good idea. The PS3's controller is identical to the PS2 controller in button layout, albiet on a different shell. The 360's controller is identical in layout to the Xbox's controller but with a different shell. There's a parallel there, most likely. I guess it depends on what you mean by "how they'll play".

One thing can be certain, though. Whether for better or for worse, the Revolution will be like nothing before. It certainly sounds better as of now.
MarioKart64.com biotch!
I love how you guys argue about stuff like controller size and the systems (except xbox) haven't even come out yet.
Like A Fox
I suppose I should probably buy something because the most recent console games I play are for SNES, and I have a GBA SP that I use for my old gameboy games. I guess it's time to upgrade. Too bad they cost so much.
dinosaur from the past
Well, seeing as how there's been pictures of all the controllers and stuff, that's not completely retarded, Patricio. True, nobody here's actually HELD the controllers, but it ain't hopeless, as I'm assuming there's some pictures out there with an element of scale in them.
everybody wanna tell you the meaning of music
I've never understood how people get themselves frothing at the mouth over new consoles, let alone camp in line or any of that. If you just pretended the console wasn't coming out until two years later, you could have a huge selection at cheap prices...
Rock on, Earthbound. Rock on.
Yes, but then you wouldn't have a new console for two years, and you'd look pretty stupid saying "You guys are crazy! That system isn't out yet!" and pretending not to see or recognize the systems being played in front of you if any of your friends happen to have them...

Really, this discussion is just here for those of us who are interested to hear different opinions, and maybe things we haven't considered about the systems we were less interested in before.
Speed is the key.
A good thing with Revolution is that you get some physical training while you play. Grin

Pretty much how I feel. Am also a fanboy.
I do have one concern with Sony and Microsoft- what games are you making that the PS2 and XBox can't handle? We've had 8 bit, 16 bit, 32 bit, 64 bit, whatever bit there is now; so do you claim to have the next leap in gaming? Doubt it. I don't think it is time yet.
This thread seems kinda bias in favor of the Revolution.I love it1 Grin

32 bit, usually.

Really? Why the downgrade from 64?
Eh, just reinforces that we don't need more powerful systems yet.
