The Mike Tyson version of Punch Out is the same between the Japan and US releases. The non-Mike Tyson version has Super Macho Man instead of Mr. Dream for the final fighter.
It was definitely released for the famicom. After the huge success of the promotional gold Punch-Out!! They made MTPO for famicom as well as NES. I have seen at least 6 copies of it for sale on ebay as of 7/29/10.
Also RedTom's site has pictures of it under the "different versions" section at the bottom there is a link to Famicom MTPO. If anyone has it, or even a rom of it (although that might not exist) I would be eternally grateful.
Famicom != Famicom Disk System. Just so you know. You seem confused about that fact.
I've already stated that the MTPO is the same as the US version, both the original and the REV A release. It's the non-MT version that's different. Here's the list of all MTPO and PO releases, taken from the No-Intro Database.
Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! (Japan, USA) (Rev A) Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! (Japan, USA) Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! (Europe) (Rev A) Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! (Europe) Punch-Out!! (Europe) Punch-Out!! (Japan) (Gold Edition) Punch-Out!! (USA)

Yes I figured out about the Famicom and FDS. I am simply looking for someone that has the japanese version that can provide me some information regarding the gameplay. I know you think they are the same game but there may be some very subtle differences in gameplay that I want to confirm or refute. If this is too vague and you want details PM me.
No, they're absolutely the same. The ROM data completely matches. This is CRC32, SHA-1, and MD5 confirmed at No-Intro, which is why they're listed as (Japan, USA).

Can you tell me how you know that all these hash function have been run on both versions and that they match?
Cause No-Intro is a site that deals with dumps and redumps and checks and stuff. Their database is a very good source to confirm stuff like that.
It certainly may be a possibility that the NES MTPO cart is simply a FC cart (60 pins) with a 60-to-72 pin converter attached. Only way to know that would be to look inside.
And doing a little scouring of the web, indeed it is.
Today we show you how to make a Japanese Famicom game converter for play on US Nintendo entertainment systems. There are a few old NES game titles that actually have the converter in them like 1942, Clu Clu Land, Donkey Kong Jr.,Duck Hunt, Elevator Action, Excitebike, Golf, Gumshoe, Gyromite, Hogan's Alley, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!, Pinball, Raid on Bungeling Bay, Rygar, Soccer, Stack Up, Tennis, Urban Champion, Wizards and Warriors and Wrecking Crew Gyromite is the one we will use in this case, you'll need to know if the one you have has the converter in it because thats right, not all Gyromite game paks have the converter in it. First thing you will notice is weight, the converter is heavier and another thing is the sticker label. Rob the robot has a much darker purple color than the other.
So all you would need to do to play it on a Famicom is open up the cart and separate the PCB from the 60-to-72 pin converter. You don't NEED a separate Famicom game, since they're identical contents.

That's wrong. A converter has been found in a MTPO cart, but I believe that's only been confirmed once. 99.99% of them certainly don't have it.
Gyromite is famous for having converters, but even that game only has them maybe 10% of the time. It's generally only the old, 5 screw games that were made for the system's launch that have them, as it's thought that they did it because they didn't have enough NES boards for the early demand. For instance, every Stack Up cart has one in it, and that game didn't get a 3 screw "reprint." Of course, people don't trash Stack Up carts for the converters because that's a $20 game whereas Gyromite is pretty worthless.
No intro seems to work with emulation not the actual games. Emulation cannot simulate hardware can it? No because things never glitch out, overheat, etc.
Also that site is claiming that all those versions are the same which is a lie. There are many well documented differences between NTSC and PAL versions of the game. Hell I have both MTPO and PO for NTSC and there are differences between those two games. The differences are extremely difficult to notice unless you have played this game a ton and know what to look for. Those hash functions thing probably would not find them, and obv did not.
Now back to my original question. Does anyone have this game for Famicom?

Obviously you're NOT reading my posts in full. Go back to the list. Notice that the PAL (Europe) is NOT the same as the Japan/USA one!
Also, No-Intro deals with dumping and documenting cartridges. I even checked out a few other sites that host ROMs, and there is NO separate Japan listings anywhere for Mike Tyson's Punch-Out, only Punch-Out, which I stated the difference there (a different final boss).
But I guess if you want to spend money on getting the same exact same game twice, well, then go ahead and do it.
I don't want the game. I want someone that already has it to test something out. Which is why I the titled the thread "NEED FAMICOM OWNER THAT HAS MTPO"

Then why in the world is this in the Trading Board?

Because I am trading for information, and this board has people that have lots of different systems and games. If you think it should go elsewhere thats fine, I didn't know where else to put it quite frankly.

I have MTPO for NES. Im not sure if this has converter inside I havent opened it. Regarding MTPO for Famicom. We used to have it back it 88, it was for the Famicom Asian version the Red and White color console. It was MTPO because we reached the end of the game fighting Mike. Hope this answer your question. But I have a question too, does my MTPO Nes cartridge have a converter inside? Thanks
