HELLO!
Bump.

I know Khananaphone has been doing a lot of work on this game. And I decided to try it.

Khananaphone got 1:14  http://www.twitch.tv/khananaphone/c/2789650

I just got a 2:40.

This is fun.  Pretty dang luck based, though.  I wasn't landing on any properties at all, then suddenly I got Park Place and Boardwalk on consecutive turns, which gave me the ability to trade for the win.

Oh hey, I'll post some stuff about this later.
i always liked the tas considering it's actually solid monopoly strategy wherein the computer just gets screwed by the dice rather than the computer just making an extremely poorly thought out trade because of poor ai, but it's impressive to see a real person be able to beat this game so quickly.

HELLO!
Nice timing, did some runs today when Zelda 2 wasn't treating me well.

Got a 30:08 in 8 player, and a 2:18 in 2 player.

8 player is different.  The strategy there is to land on the last-bought property of a solid monopoly, hit select, and trade for the other two before buying the third (I got this from Inzult's stream).  Generally you'll be the only one to get to build, and so you'll win through attrition.

He either did that independently or got it from my stream.
HELLO!
Well in any case I'm not the one who invented any of these strategies. I'm just running it because it's a surprisingly fun little run. Smiley
Yeah idea lifted from Darkwing Duck. It wouldn't be a fun diversion if I had to think or care about it.
HELLO!
1:15. So close. Smiley

Well if I had watched that video closer, I would have figured out I could hold up to add $ faster in the trade screen. Good to know.

Now THAT was freaking BRILLIANT! I'd never have thought of mortgaging property off and then trading for all the money to screw the pc over!

Well done good sir!
Very nice!

So you actually lose the game when you get to <=0$ instead of getting to <0$ ?
And the condition is checked even when only trading?

HELLO!
It's actually a standard Monopoly rule that if you receive a mortgaged property (via trade or bankruptcy) you must either a) pay off the mortgage immediately, or b) pay a 10% payment.

The NES AI doesn't take this into account, and is capable of trading all its money and property for a pile of mortgaged property.  No money, and no property to mortgage to make the payments = bankruptcy.

So no, you have to go below 0 in net worth (no money, nothing to mortgage, no buildings to sell) in order to lose.
