I was wondering what, if any, precedent there was for speedrunning an MMO, specifically Guild Wars 2.
The game has a story line that can be (up until the very last mission) completed alone, but major parts of the game (notably the sections in between the missions) are in environments where anyone else online playing can interact.
What guidelines are there about player interaction in games for speedrunning? Given the nature of a speedrun, are sequence breaks or other glitches allowed if they break the EULA of the game?
I ask about the player interaction because the last mission requires more than one person to complete, but you could theoretically have team of four go through the entire mission, only to have the runner join the party and finish, bypassing the running of the mission by the player completely. Would methods like that be frowned upon?
