We've all been notched! The server randomly threw an exception, crashed my whole @!#%ing computer, and wont load our world... the backup i have is way too old. I'll work on getting it up asap, but I thought I'd post here to let people know what's up... I'll also be keeping more backups lol.

GOD. Random stuff happened to the world. A few chunks moved, and I don't think there's any way to reverse them. Free diamond tools and unlimited resuorces for everyone while we rebuild! That's the best I can do... I'll create a script to make backups every few hours now, so this bull doesn't happen again. Apologies everyone, I did NOT see this coming, but we will be prepared next time.

It took me most of today, but I've got our main train station worked out now. It's going to be powered by a single booster and will be dead easy to use. Look for the destination gate of choice, hop in waiting minecart, off you go to your destination. Once you get back you simply hop out of the cart, walk through the exit and doing so you will activate the retrieval systtem that returns your cart to the storage.

I'll map out the exact dimensions and how to build the booster underground (in my current build it sits next to the station) and make sure to include maintenance tunnels. The system SHOULD be failproof as long as nothing can stop the carts (no drops or mobs or people in the internals), at least I can't think of any way to jam it up or get two carts in the same part. The only thing where stuff could go wrong is in the arrival bay if multiple people arrive in succession, and even then the system shouldnt be harmed, you just pick up the misplaced carts and manually return them to storage.

I hope I'll be able to build a first 5 gate version today, although I might not have enough iron right now to do that =/ In any case, we absolutely need to make sure this thing is creeper proof.

Okay, I've looked into mob traps and I think I've got a design for my space that a) WILL BE FIREPROOF THIS TIME, and b) Will kill any mob and let you get their spoils. At that is left is to build it.

The beach restoration project is coming along very well (the train station is on hold until the server move, I'll map out the reserved area I need for it tomorrow so people can start building near it without disturbance).

I've also constructed a Mountainside Café, if you want to visit go south-east rom Wheatley and look out for a giant flag, the path to the café starts right by it.

Oh, sorry LLCD. I was running from mobs and accidentally flooded part of the Mountainside Cafe. If you fix it, all you have to do is destroy those cobblestone blocks at the waterfall...

For people who have played both, how is this better/different than Garry's mod? In Garry's mod you can build pretty much anything with absolutely loads of different building parts, anything from Half-life 2 and more. There are also loads of custom maps and stuff, so I'd be interested to know if this is simply amazing to people who haven't played that kind of sandbox game, or if it's because this game is just really good.

Well, I have Garry's mod and I find Minecraft to be completely different. First of all - the world. In Garry's Mod you have just a map - small, which can be highly detailed, but it really is just a small map, limited by prop and size limits of Source Engine... and it takes at least days to create a map for Gmod... in Minecraft, the map is generated at the beginning and during the game - plus you change it (or should I say the world) on every step.
2nd - you are able to create items, weapons etc. only if you have items for it. In Gmod you just spawn it, in Minecraft you actually need to obtain it - then process it to finally craft something with it. Sounds silly, but it is great fun... which can be highly addictive.
