I like how the removal of glitches and and unintended sequence breaks is somehow making the Prime games worse.

Anyway, I agree the MPT should have its own category. Unlike a port from say, PS2 to Xbox, the wii controls cause a reasonably significant change in how the game is played, which IMO gives it enough variety to warrant a separate category. The new spring ball, faster charged shots and forcing a more natural route choice also contribute to the variety.

ok people, watch the current test runs for both mp1 and mp2:

mp1:
mp2:

with this, i hope people realize how different the games are.
hopefully, someone very serious will make an attempt.

the trilogy version of mp3 won't be accepted probably since it was nerfed like the 0-02 release of mp1 on GC compared to the original.
My feelings on The Demon Rush
I really don't see a reason to ban Prime 1 and Prime 2 in this trilogy. However, I do think the runs should be at least near the quality of the current Prime 1 or 2 runs. Nate said that people would submit sub-par runs to the site as one of the reasons for forbidding it, but I think we should at least allow people to submit runs and let verifiers judge for themselves.

No idea about Prime 3. Are there any differences?
Visually Appealing
it's very crippled. BSJs were removed entirely.
i guess i don't mean to discourage anyone from doing anything ... i just can't imagine the same effort going into runs of the prime games in trilogy that went into the originals (not counting prime 3 obviously lol). and so, in my mind, posting runs on the trilogy versions would, by definition, mean posting inferior runs. and that's not something we like to do. elitism ftw, and whatnot.

so when i say they won't be accepted it's not really a ban but more like ... me stating my opinion that nothing done on the trilogy versions will ever be accepted.

i mean, the community just isn't there. why do people think this is going to come up if the ORIGINAL prime 3 can barely even get any attention? or in light of how little attention the original primes 1 and 2 receive now?
Stand: Devil's Call in your Heart
if anyone still cares about the trilogy, i'm putting together a speed run of mp2. the quality isn't that good because it is mostly a reference for someone who might be interested in what can be done here compared to the original and to see how the timesavers affect the game.

from what i'm doing so far, i expect to be above 2 hours at the end.
Nice. I've actually been thinking of speed-running MP3 on my Trilogy disc with a low% (even though I can't do the roll jump for my life OR sequence break)

I can't wait to see what things have been taken out in the Trilogy version that was in the GameCube version.
Quote from playe:

that's because it doesn't work in Trilogy... instant unmorph jumps were removed. I really don't see the point in running Trilogy Corruption, honestly, it's the exact same game minus everything that makes it somewhat interesting (there are very, very few decent tricks in Corruption that don't rely on SSJs and BSJs). Much more so than with the other games.

yeah, at least mp1 and mp2 have new controls and some new speed tricks thanks to spring ball and fast scanning to make them at least worth a look. mp3 from the trilogy is completely inferior to the original mp3.

edit: i finished my run and i got 2:04 final time. there's room for improvement to get sub 2 hours so hopefully someone watches the run and uses the route to produce a better run for the site (also, one of my segments has missing audio so i can't submit at all now)
Well I've decided to look through the thread again, and decided to try a Trilogy version natural route run just to see how fast I can get.

If you guys want I could record the run, and put it up in the casual speed-run sub forums.
Stand: Devil's Call in your Heart
hmm which game? mp1 or 2?
Prime 1.

And actually I did a ss run just for fun last night, and ended up with the time 3:19 with 45%, and sadly I didn't record it although I'm sure that I can do faster.
