Watched it today. While a part of me is predetermined to love the run, having wanted to see one ever since 2007 and lacking the requisite Metroidsticles to make one myself (it takes me something like 30 tries just to get a good scan-dash to get Space Jump first in Prime 1, for Chrissakes), I have to say in as much objectivity as I can muster that it's a damn good run. It's unfortunate that due to the nature of the game and Retro's apparent abhorrence to sequence breaking for some reason, Corruption lacks the massive kinds of skips that the first Prime has, but this run is definitely worth standing beside the others in the canon of 'troid speedruns.

I'm not sure I could run Corruption again and stay sane, lol. Running this game is not easy.

I do have a new Wii and a new Wiimote/nunchuk, and probably getting new DVDs sometime soon, so I wouldn't have to put up with all the ridiculous technical issues... but it's still something I really, really don't want to do again. Maybe an SS at some point.

Congratulations Paraxade. I was convinced you would never finish this run but I am glad I was wrong. The only thing that bothered me with this run is that segment where you sort of fell into the lava. But that's how good your run is.. A 100% run by Paraxade would be sweet and for now, I predcit that currently only Paraxade and tate being the only ones to make it.

I intended to fall in the lava, I just didn't intend to hit the puffer. Hitting the puffer and getting knocked backwards was the only mistake.

Stand: Devil's Call in your Heart

i finished watching the run. what a ride!
i just realized this was the first time i saw a speed run of mp3. i noticed that it felt way longer than 2 hours mostly because of all the loading screens, cutscenes being skipped and loading various segments.
the run was really entartaining. seeing all the speed tricks together is cool and seeing the bosses obliterated so fast is always fun. also, i find interesting that the boss that lasts the longest is Omega Ridley and the way he goes is even similar to the original Meta Ridley from mp1 (first phases go fast and last one slower because of his patterns). seeing this also shows that the BSJ is the most important trick in the whole run (and that's also why the trilogy version is dead in the water)

Great run. It may not have had big sequence breaks like the ones in the first two games, but it still had plenty of interesting smaller tricks. The run seemed very well-planned and well-executed throughout, especially during the boss fights.

Congratulations, Paraxade.

You're long-awaited run has finally come. Sticking with the run, even after all this time, is commendable. This is your first successful SDA submission, right? In that case, you've passed the rite and you're now a MAN! (as far as SDA at least, heh)

It's a very well done run. Like everyone said, those quick boss fights are a shocker, especially for me since Prime 1 and 2's fights can be unavoidably drawn out. Yeah, those boss fights are definitely the "woah" factor. I would definitely want to see a part of this run in the next Marathon promotion video.

kinda curious about the somewhat constant shifts into hypermode

do they save time or something or is it just to pass the time?

where are you referring to exactly? I usually go into hypermode outside combat to either open doors, because hyperball is faster than waiting for a bomb to explode or unmorphing, or to avoid taking damage, since you're invulnerable in hypermode.

But the funny thing is the invulnerability. Love that. It can abused so easily.

I had to back up the video after the Gandreyda fight to figure out how she died so fast. And I loved the later parts where you're blowing the crap out of enemies with hyper missiles.
