Stand: Devil's Call in your Heart
^^i think most of the puzzling comes from the fact mp2 had runs listed in SDA just 1 month after coming out while this one hasn't had a run listed in 1.5 years since release.
the mp2 run back then was test-quality at best so maybe your test run could have been submitted without problems...

edit: damn page break..
nai
where i only attempted most segments 1-4 times, it doesn't pass my own personal quality test so it was never going to get submitted because anyone who would put any kind of effort in speed running the game should be able to beat my time. My run will always be up for viewing at archive when someone wants to use it to compare their segments to beat my run so its not like my run is not out their to view by everyone. I just don't think i deserve to hold any record at sda because of the lack of play quality i put into the run.
Stand: Devil's Call in your Heart
i see. that's fine.

i just thought that having the run up here would motivate more people to try and make better runs. at least paraxade will get his run done eventually for now.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1![/sarcasm]
I wasn't thinking of your run specifically craztad; there are plenty of ones on youtube, such as Hyper Mode low%s and everything. Although if Paraxade is halfway through one that will be put up here, that's fine; I can wait Smiley Thanks for clearing that up.
Yeah, all the segments in my run-in-progress are on YouTube.

I'd probably be finishing this faster but I keep getting distracted. Tongue
Paraxade, any chance you'll be getting back to this run soon?  i'm dying to see MORE SEGMENTS!!!  Grin
yeah, I'll be getting back to this sooner or later.

Angered Me, You have!
In my opinion, your run has lost a bit of its excitment due to your distraction of the new Sonic game etc. I am not demanding progress but all the waiting has turned away a bit my anticipation along with a few other people. Feels anticlimactic.
Stand: Devil's Call in your Heart
the run sure can't take longer to be made than, say, Duke Nukem Forever, can it?

hopefully it won't end up cancelled  Tongue Wink

Oh god, don't mention Metroid Prime 3 in the Zelda:TP topic then...

anyone know what kind of times would be respectable for a single session any% run?

i did a casual single session run in 3:58 and was wondering if i should attempt an actual speed run
you could fairly easily be pushing the 3 hour mark for an SS on normal, for an SDA run I'd say around 2:30-2:40 might be a good time to shoot for but there's not all that much to compare to yet.
Stand: Devil's Call in your Heart
i'd say that getting sub 3 hours is a good first goal before trying serious attempts.

sometimes i think i should have tried the SS but i haven't been motivated lately and i got a bit burnt out with the trilogy. also, i want to make a new any% mp2wii run once i get free time.
I've just finished my segmented any% run in 2:09, it's currently up for verification. YouTube playlist

Metroid Prime 3: Corrupted Sequence Breaking for Wii

Seriously verifiers... this run is awesome just say Accept to this ASAP Tongue
Stand: Devil's Call in your Heart
the initial wait is over.
now the verification/encoding wait begins. it should be minuscule next to how long the run has been in the works.
i'll wait until it is up in SDA to watch in HQ.
Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
Darn, I never got around to playing this game. I should do so before I watch the run so I can understand what's going on.
Stand: Devil's Call in your Heart
yeah. like most speed runs, they become 10x better when you know the game beforehand.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!

Congratulation.
Shoryuken Shall Punish!
Not that it has much to do with speed running. But have any other Australians managed to get their hand on Metroid Prime Trilogy (Wii) before it went out of press? I got the very last copy on the EB games database Cheesy
#Casual
LOE, I didn't know you were an Aussie!!!
Shoryuken Shall Punish!
Of course I am Cheesy

I am just not dull enough to embark on speed running without a NTSC set up Cheesy

Edit: So really....I am the only Aussie on the site who got MP Trilogy?...please tell me I am wrong!

EDIT 2: Oh yeah, and can anyone tell me if Dash Jumping is still possible in MP1 with the Trilogy edition with the new controls?

Yeah it is possible but they heavily nerfed it that tricks like Early Space Jump is near impossible. I saw a segment on the Wii version that used the 'fastest PAL method' to get Early Space Jump on Trilogy.
Shoryuken Shall Punish!
cool, if i ever try run the game thank god I own it on GCN huh? ^_^
I just downloaded the Youtube-Speedrun and I like it, good work!
