It was hated in echoes because of the lock on feature. It's just cheating.
well, the game wasn't made for that from the beginning. removing lock wouldn't have helped either.
fact: metroid is not a standard first-person shooter and will never be. if nintendo wants a good FPS on wii, they should make a new franchise. metroid is not suited for that and forcing it into it is only damaging it's name (thank god prime is over. now time for something that goes back to metroid's roots and real feel)
Hyper Mode requires 100 energy. since you have to use Hyper Mode on a few occasions, you have to collect a spare Energy Tank. that would be the one Energy Tank that is directly in your path and cannot be skipped.
how's the run going craztad? I can't express in words how much I anticipate this run, I believe I've achieved a time of around 4 hours on normal mode without using speed tricks (ghetto jumps, insta-morphs, etc...), so I can only imagine how fast a true speedrunner effort could conquer this game.

Hmm, 2:32 is quite impressive, so what I'm really asking is whether anyone is going to do the actual run (not a test run), seeing as they now have something solid to base it on?
At the moment I'm working on an any% Normal segmented run. Got the first segment done a while ago; haven't gotten anything else done after that but hopefully I will soon.
