Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is the first, non-port, really good game for the Wii.

I started playing this today, and already found a pretty nice glitch/trick timesaver already: (spoilers)

When you battle the Ice Guy Rundis(or whatever his name is)(END OF SPOILER) there's a pretty neat glitch that allows you to kill him really fast.
First of all, get off his ice protection. Then, Charge your beam, go close to him, Shoot. Back. Charge the beam at the same time as you walk backwards. He will now swing his ice sword at you, and when he has done that, get close to him and repeat the procedure. He won't do anything and his Phazon-form won't appear.

I don't think there's many timesavers or glitches found for this game, yet, and I think the one i mentioned above is the first one.

I've been thinking about a speed run of this game, and it actually looks like this game is pretty hard to sequence break.

Discuss.

As soon as there are a new trick found, I will update this post.

Don't lock, I don't think you have a reason for that. If so, just tell me. >_>

Um, way too early?

The twilight princess-thread existed before the game was out.

And MP3C is out, so, no.

Ahh yes... the Twilight Princess thread.

The shining epitome of what every Forum should aim for.

Edit: Damn, my inane off topic chatter was stupid, its shining not shinning.  Typo fixed.

My feelings on The Demon Rush
I'm not going to lock this thread for being too early.  The game is finally out, so people can actually discuss gameplay details, sequence breaks, and speedrunning plans.

However, I will lock this thread if the stupid, inane off-topic chatter continues.
Just call me the cynicism machine
Can you at least edit the title of the thread so that it mentions Metroid Prime 3 at some point?
For Christ's sake, the game is still shipping to my EB.  Can you please avoid saying anything about the game?  The games been out for maybe 4 hours.  Wow, you found a break already?  Congrats, why don't you try beating the damn game itself.  I'm pissed.

Don't read the topic? I find it stupid too that some people already think of a speedrun, but it's their choice. If you don't want to be spoiled in any way, just don't read the topic. It's not like if it was on the frontpage, in bold, underlined, and flashing in red at 36 character size.
I'm the guy who complains yet never submits XD
i thought metroid 2002 discussed all metroid topics?

Doesn't mean that they can't be discussed here.  However, it's still pretty illogical to think that this thread will deliver on anything that the m2k2 version won't.
It's not officially out until tomorrow.

Yeah, it released today, but GameStop (the two around here within 25 miles) didn't have it in stock.

The biggest difference to total times is going to be inherent with the control scheme (free aim, finally) and the new travel/shortcut transport system (which rocks absolutely).

Of course, that's assuming people don't have a "omg skip planets 3 through 7 glitch already".

Wow, I just saw the GameSpot review for this game...

Streamlined controls make things a little too easy and a little less adventurous

So, they're so good that they're bad? <_<

Here's the problem.  This guy got the game about 24 hours before anyone else did.  He didn't post spoiler warnings, so I came in, thinking maybe he was going to say something about the controls, or the graphics, etc.  Instead, he comes right out, states a somewhat important part of the story, that looked like this:

blah blah blah (end of spoliers).

My eye hapenned to see that before I could react to anything, and 2 seconds into the post, I already had a significant part of the story spolied for me, before most stores even got the game in.  Granted, maybe I should have assumed that was going to happen since this IS SDA.  On the other hand, since the day this topic was made was technically the SHIP DATE for 95% of the country, I thought it might be safe haven to come into.

Edit: woudl anyone here be interested in exchanigng friend vouchers?  I WANT those bumper stickers for my ship.
Complete. Global. Saturation.
The Metroid games actually have a story? Wow. I thought all of them were just Samus running around by herself shooting stuff.
a thing that might help is that in other metroid prime games you could only do double bomb jumps but in this one you can jump in your morph ball for by flicking the wii remote up so you can now do tripple bomb jumps

What are you talking about?

Ghetto jumps are there, but it was pretty tough to do (only place I tried to do it it would be slower than the normal way, though). I think the L-Lock jump is also possible, but that one would be harder to do.

E: Dammit, m2k2 beat me to the punch on Ghetto Jumps. (I just noticed that tricks topic)
Yeah, I said it.
I guess I'll be the first here to simply say that Corruption is off the hook. I'm loving every second of it.

Next week has ``kip`` a run under 2 hours!..haha!
Yeah, I said it.

Heh. No one seems to be having much luck sequencing breaking the game. A lot of the movement tricks used to set up breaks in the first two games don't work anymore.

I kind of like it that way, personally. >_>

The game also came out two days ago... <_<
