I can't confirm this (I hope someone can) but I think the timer doesn't run during the loading/flying/traveling cutscenes. I don't know if it runs during the "cinematics" cutscenes though (but you can skip those on your 2nd playthrough).
Well I ran into my first difficulty on Hypermode.  Rundas, surprinsgly, was extremely quick and painless, even thugh I had trouble with him on veteran.  Guess I just know how to manage my PED better.

I got to the part where you need to take out the two anti-air turrets.  I died three times in a row on the first one, and it wasn't really close at any time.  I've noticed so far that the bosses aren't particularly difficult so long as you know how to beat them.  It's the regular enemies that suck.  Ones that are in hypermode are an absolute REQUIREMENT you go into hypermode for.  I promise you will lose lots of life attempting to beat them normally.

I'm thinking that the game will get easier (in general) as the game goes along.  You'll have more energy tanks, and I don't think the enemies get that much more difficult.
fuck you i wont do what you tell me
I found the second turret to be absolutely horrid.  I only got that one out of complete luck.

but im not on hyper mode yet.

yes, the game has gotten easier for me as i go through on veteran.  just because you can go into hyper mode much more often than you could at the start (and better energy pickups).

Do this. Tongue
Um the first seed boss on hyper?

...yeah.  Not possible.  It's not so much him hurting you, its you not having enough firepower to take him down.  The red energy balls he absorbs are almost impossible to destroy both of, and it SEEMS that him absorping 1 ball will give him TWO new fresh ones in his reserves.  Very frustrating.
fuck you i wont do what you tell me
thats why you just let him absorb them and continue to waste on his ass, going after one weak point at a time...
Well I'm a moron.  I always thought you had to kill all 4 energy balls off BEFORE you took out any of the 4 spots.  It just dawned on me suddenly that I didn't have to, which made the fight MUCH easier.  Still difficult... once again more time consuming than anything, but that enabled me to pull it off.  Man, I'm dumb.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
I have another question...

How exactly do you do a BSJ? I read the thing on M2K2, and I've seen a few videos (even of MP3), but even when I do them in the same areas, I can't get it.

Any help? And I'm not asking there because I'm here now and I don't feel like posting there. >_>

IMO, it's one of the hardest tricks to do in the game.  it's much easier to do in prime 2, and I don't know about prime 1, because I've never been able to do one in that game. o_O

never done one in prime 3, but in 2, you lay a bomb, then right after it hits you, you unmorph and jam Jump until you jump once, then jump again at the desired moment.

you usually have to have your back to a wall.  double bomb space jumps were possible in prime 2, but i dont know about prime 3.  it's just the same thing, but off of a double bomb jump.

Hey, does anyone else want to trade friend vouchers?
I don't have any friends that own this game

lol, I find BSJs extremely easy to perform. You don't just do a bomb jump with your back to a wall and unmorph, you do a bomb jump OR spring ball with your back to a wall and MOVE BACK toward the wall, THEN unmorph. 2bsjs are easily possible in Corruption, but 3bsjs aren't due to 3bjs not being in the game.

So M2K2 is lying when they say you need some scenery to go between the camera and Samus (at least for MP3)? Because as far as I can tell, in MP3 you can't be both right against the wall AND have the camera behind you.
fuck you i wont do what you tell me
in morph ball form, you can have the camera behind you while having your "back" to the wall.

No, it's true. That's why it works on walls. When you unmorph, the game moves the camera behind Samus, then zooms in on her helmet. If you're right against a wall, the game has no room to do these camera movements, so it skips the animation and immediately morphs/unmorphs you.

EDIT: And you aren't supposed to be right up against the wall, there should be a bit of space between you and the wall.

None of this is in the Constitution, though, so it might not be completely true.

But whenever I press Z right near a wall, it stops at the wall, or circles all the way around. And the camera always changes to in front of you when you initially transform with your back to a wall.

Edit: >_> Okay. I will try these other things later.
Do'h! Homer'D!
Leave about 2 morphball lengths between you and the wall. Then jump and move towards the wall. I think you have to press the Jump button almost at the same time as you unmorph, but I can't get it consistently.

If it stops at the wall, you're too close. If it circles all the way around, you need to let go of Z.

the BSJ is not something you learn in 2-3 days.

i had problems with it even in mp2 until recently.

i tried a bit of them today and failed badly. felt like relearning the trick all over again and i gave up because i wasn't that serious yet.
fuck you i wont do what you tell me
the only place I've really done a BSJ consistently is coming out of the boost ball collect! area in MP2, going over the gate.

I never used bsj in MP1 or MP2.  I never used a single sequence break or trick in those games.  In fact, I'm in the process of just now learning these things.  So, learning all this at once does seem a bit overwhelming.    The only thing I can do easily and successfully to get extra height is to use the spring ball, then do the instant unmorph, then space jump.  I can't pull off a 2bj yet.   You have to have the camera centered behind you or the instant unmorph will not work.   Like Paraxade said, you need to leave a little space between Samus and the wall.  Also, after instant unmorph, try not to hit the wall behind you or you might lose the extra height you got.
Yeah, I said it.
One nice thing about doing a single-segment run is that if there's a very difficult, high-risk trick near the end of the run, you can just skip it and no one will question that decision. =)
For 2bsjs, it's key to make sure you lay both of the last two bombs while you're ascending from the first bomb. I've never been able to pull it off with spring ball + bomb in midair instead of a 2bj, so I don't know about that.

Also remember that practice makes perfect. I can personally pull them off nearly every time.
Hyper-diificulty continues to be what I said awhile ago.  The only hard part is pirates, you won't get killed on bosses, some of them just take slightly longer.

The hardest part so far?

SPOILERS

Dropping the sky-city bomb on the 2nd seed shield.  Like I said, pirates are the hardest part, and there's a ton of those pricks running around.  Not to mention you have to shoot three of the gun ships down, each of which take two and half phazon tanks.

(End Spoilers)

I just finished the first boss on the last planet, once again, took a little longer, but never was I in danger of getting killed.  Hardest part of the game, without question, is coming up... I won't say for spoiler purposes, but most of you know the part towards the end of the game where you have to kill off a buttload of pirates...

Let it be noted that you have to kill probably around 10-15 red phazonites to unlock everything, as killing bosses alone on mulytiple difficulties doesn't come close to getting you all the yellow tokens you need.

oh man, on veteran difficulty I only had 4 left at that part.  got through it the first time, but i saw myself about to lose it multiple times.

I just finished the game, bout an hour ago.  I found the last boss(es) to be the hardest of them all, just because of the circumstance.

*SPOILERS*

Ridley was pretty killer too.  died a few times on him just because I didn't learn to recognize when he was about to charge, and he kept spamming the tail & fire spin attack.

Oh, and I skipped two energy cells, the two left that I hadn't found. Tongue
Everybody loves Hypnotoad!
Only 5 cells are actually required, and Paraxade found a way to skip 2 more.
