As of yesterday I am a proud owner of a few of these coins. They seem really well made, have a nice size a nice width and (most importantly) a nice weight. Guys (and gals), get them while they're there Wink

Skimmed thread but don't think these were mentioned.
Can anyone elaborate on what those rings are? I can probably make something like that if there's any interest. Jewelry is not that hard to make. In fact, I recently made an engagement ring for my lady.
Exoray
They are the three spiritual stones from Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Major congrats on that!

I'm trying to think of some other jewelry related to popular marathon games, but not much is coming to mind. It would be a bit on the simpler side, but perhaps something like Garnet's necklace since FF9 will be at this year's AGDQ?
So the master sword of last year was really popular. What if we include a sword in this coming AGDQ? or an item from one of the more popular game series such as one of the Blades of Chaos (or both if it's not too much trouble) from God of War, a whip from the Castlevania series,  Kirby's big sword from Return to Dreamland, One of Amaterasu's weapons from Okami,... just to name a few possibilities

Spiritual Stones. Got it. Based on the link that moooh provided, it looks these aren't rings or necklaces, but free-standing objects. Is there an interest in these? Are they worthy of being placed on The List?

Omnigamer: Thanks! Please provide a link or an image of Garnet's necklace. It's not that I'm too lazy to search for it, but you know what you want better than I do.

Kilted One: I am making a sword for the next AGDQ. If you can provide links for Amaterasu's weapons and the Blades of Chaos, that'll be great. Your other two suggestions are already on the list. I think that the chain whip will be next after the gunblade, but we'll have to see how much interest there is.

For anyone who's curious, here's the list:

Cast
-Metal mario
-Metal sonic
-Metal slime
-Star man from EB
-Zelda goddesses Farore, Din, Nayru

Non-cast
-Kirby Dream Land sword
-Zelda Hylian shield
-Screw Attack medallion
-Kingdom Hearts Keyblade
-LttP medallions
-Golden gauntlets
-Farnklin badge
-Castlevania chain whip

Also, the gunblades are still in progress. I haven't posted updates because I don't have a lot more to show at this point and I think that people are more interested in results than words.
All the things
Outside of cosplay I can't see anyone actually wearing it, but it might not be bad as a display piece:

I can't think of many other points in the game where a metal-ish object comes into play.

Well Zidane's and/or Steiner's different attack weapons do look beatiful in some cases, but we're doing a sword … Ozma would probably be better made as a marble … You get all those shattering bells in the grotto and Burmecia, but I wouldn't call them too recognisable … Ark or one of the airships would be a pain to make … And Cinna's hammer would be no more than a comic relief item.
Can't think of anything else metallish atm … Well yeah, Quina uses forks as weapons but … Hmmmm.
Gimme some sugar Shaggy!
¤_¤ Quina's fork....want.....

hopefully this one will work, if not I can try to find a better one
So apparently you can already buy replicas of Garnet's necklace? My only potential problem with this piece is finding the crystal. Plastic and glass are out of the question. I can do the metal work fairly easily if I get an indication that there's a demand for this.

Alko: Once I finish this decade of gunblades, I'd actually like to take a break from swords for a bit, thus my interest in making the Chain Whip. If you have ideas for weapons that aren't swords then please post some pics.

This reminds me, I was thinking of making Ganon's Trident awhile back. Does anyone want that?

Kilted One: Which weapon is that? Any more pics you can provide will be helpful. That handguard looks complicated.

Sorry, I was mainly bringing up stuff that wouldn't really qualify, because we're either doing it or have done it quite often (swords) or they're boring (bells) or they're not real metal (Ozma).
Deathfire obviously likes the idea of a Quina-fork … I'ld say choose one of these forks, if you think so xD.
Vivi uses black mage staffs to do his magic, but out of the blue I'ld think most of them to be wooden. Eiko uses flutes, maybe one or two of them lookes metalish, but they'ld be a pain to make, I guess. Amarant uses some weird claw thingies, which are probably forbidden by quite a few legislations (=D), Freya uses spears and javelins … hey, that sounds almost like an idea?
Oh and Garnet uses rackets, which I would also think of as being wooden as opposed to metal. Who did I forget? Only swordspeople, I hope ^^

I suspect one could also do the stellazio (13 silver coins with the zodiac symbols on one side) but I haven't even found any proper pictures … and we've got coins xD

edit: you say buy … I skimmed through different search engines looking for the pics that were posted here, and I think I can safely say that you cannot buy it (as in semi-mass production), only other people have made one or two as commissions for cosplayers
oh sorry, that's the blade of chaos. in God of War Kratos weilds 2 of them so they are typically referred to as the Blades of Chaos. I can understand if you only make 1 of them if you make them at all cause the handle is pretty complicated. Here are a couple extra links for images of the blade.

those are the best pictures I can find right now
Exoray
Well, you could always make Steiner's full plate armor in life size scale Wink
Alko: Of those pics he posted, I thought that maybe the last one or two were production items, but I stand corrected. I wonder how much people paid to have those made.

Regarding the Quina fork: This seems like a viable project, but I need to know how much demand there will be for it. I don't know the first thing about FFIX, so I have no idea how popular this character and this item are.

Wooden staffs aren't a bad idea. I actually enjoy woodwork, though maybe I'll have to change the name of this thread Wink The rest of those suggestions are fine too, but as above, I need to know how much demand there is.

Thanks for finding those pics. If I make that sword, it'll definitely have to wait until a few other things are out of the way, as I'd need some time to devote to that handle.

That's a good suggestion, moooh. Just go ahead and mail me your credit card, and I'll send you updates on my progress Wink

$ 150 versus no price given, but estimated on his site as being a necklace and thereby worth something roundabout $ 100valued at $ 105; many thanks to Grogman for finding that reference ^^.
Quina is definitely more popular than Amarant (or so my conception), because s/he is a wonderful comic-relief main character, so a fork would be way before one of those claws. And s/he looks great, doesn't s/he? ^^ Since Quina is also playable and can learn a pretty nice attack (limit glove), I wouldn't be surprised, if s/he is part of the active party for a long time of the FFIX playing time … the three people playing the game may correct me now (or remain silent forever ;))

Vivi, being the third-most prominent character after main figure Zidane and Princess Garnet probably creates a hell of a lot of attention, so if woodwork, I would suggest one of his staffs. And of course, Vivi is cuter than the whole rest of the FFIX-cast put together (save Eiko) *___*
Obscure games ftw
I'm not sure how much use Quina has in an SS run until Cleyra, where Auto-Life can be learned for consistent 1 HP revivals.  Of the forks the Bistro Fork is cool, although the Needle Fork is probably more recognizable and the Silver Fork obviously metallic.

Yes.  Vivi.  2nd best character in the game (after Zidane).  Of his staff weapons the only one I could see in metal is the Mace of Zeus-which incidentally is the best one.

Grogman: 2012-07-10 01:07:09 pm

In the comments, someone asked how much it costs, and they replied "$105, plus shipping. A large chunk of that is for the crystal", so somewhat less expensive than the other necklace.
Everything's better with Magitek
All this talk of FFIX weapons, and no one mentions the Excalibur II?! Although I guess it makes sense if you want to stay away from more swords. Tongue

That's exactly the reason why I omitted it in my thoughts xþ

I wouldn't say Excalibur II is a good pick, it's not very iconic. With that I mean that, most likely, 90% of the viewers who has played FFIX doesn't even know what it looks like.
I'd be on the fence for a Quina fork as well but at least that one is easily distinguishable.

Regarding Ganon's Trident, unlike the master sword this weapon is not something that keeps coming back in the series (he favours swords in most other) so it would be pretty limited to LTTP in particular.
My name is unpronounceable
I was looking through the list of games to be played, and I noticed Arkham Asylum.  I think the Batarang would be, if not iconic, at least widely recognizable.  I couldn't say which version would be more popular though.

Here are some pics of the one from the game Arkham Asylum:

dat jerk
How about Link's shield? Not to be a jerk, but the master sword is kinda lonely without it's companion.
I'll add Vivi's staff and Quina's fork to the list tentatively. Now a question: if I don't make these before January, are they still worth making for later use? If FFIX is anything like 7 or 8, it's a long game and probably won't see another marathon for some time.

I guess Ganon's trident is off the list. Too bad about that. Someone find another game with a trident for me to make -- oh that's right, the fork.

The Batarang is a possibility. I prefer the first one to the second one. I just looked and you can buy these things on Ebay. It seems like I don't have much to add here unless somebody has an idea for a special AGDQ edition or something.

Augora: the Hylian shield is already on the list Wink

Actually I'm not sure what to do about that shield. Take a look at these pics. The metal shield is a pendant that you can buy on Ebay. That's sort of how I'd like to make a full size shield. Those colored plastic shields just look silly to me. No disrespect to someone's hard work, but that's what I'd call a bad translation from game/cartoon to reality. Finally, what do you guys think about the popularity of such an item? Will people bid on the shield knowing that Augora has the only sword and probably doesn't want to part with it?
