I am spending my Christmas as the Broncos game here in Denver (football) (and by football, I mean American football, not soccer), which I find will make for a Merry Christmas indeed. And fuck Wal-Mart with their anti-Christmas bullshit. Happy Holidays (and Channukah, for the Hebrews, though my Jewish friend hates Channukah and loves Christmas). Can't say much for Ramadan, though. It's tough shopping for Muslims (and Mormons, you can't buy them anything because it's against their religion). Enough ranting aside, Happy Holidays or whatever, and a happy new Speedrunning year (I hope). Grin

Well, actually, I won't really have much of a Christmas this year. I'm working swing shifts which kills the holiday for me. Cry

I find football, next to golf, baseball, curling and hockey as one of the most boring sports to watch on TV. Sometimes it can be amazing to watch, other times it's just watching burly men in spandex jumping on each other for hours.

Now this may sound bad after that, but those sports are only fun if you're actually playing them yourself. Do you have any idea how fun curling and golf are? Did them for Phys Ed. 20 this year, and this is my last class of curling today. It's so much fun, especially since there's these crazy old guys who stomp our fucking holes when we get there. If only people could have been there on my Tuesday class. The shot that old guy made...... my GOD O_O!! Curling isn't as easy as it looks either, that shit is HARD.

As I was saying before, football is fun when you're playing it yourself. It's oddly satisfying to tackle a foreign exchange student and say that's how you're supposed to play the game. Golf, amazingly fun (AMAZINGLY fun). The pitch and putt ruled. Hockey, also kick ass. Too bad it's not that cold out yet, the rink by my house isn't ready yet. Can't wait for it though Grin

Now to counter my utter off topic-ness, I have to agree that the politically correct way of wishing people the best can suck sometimes. I find it ridiculous myself, but that's probably because I'm not religious. People keep saying that only saying "Merry Christmas" is biased towards that one thing, then they try to press something else on you. Which is funny, because that's biased to. Just stick with your speech, and I will stick with mine. We'll all be so much happier that way. Besides, we're just trying to wish people the best, is there anything wrong with that? Or is the ideal society to you assholes one where we are all miserable and don't get X-box Live? O_O!!

Just say what you think is right, but don't press it on other people.

First off, I must congratulate you on that rant, very interesting.

But when you said you don't care if Sir VG is offended I think you missed the point. I took it to believe that he thought the negative attitude towards religious symbols associated with the Christian Christmas has gone too far, not the Christian symbols/implications themselves.

The first amendment gives freedom not just in speech, but in religion as well. By saying that you can't say Merry Christmas because it offends you is not only a violation of my free speech, but my right to practice my religion, which is Christianity, which celebrates Christmas.

I have to right to speak as do you, but you also have a right to shut the f*** up, in mouth, eyes, and ears. I'm not sticking a Christmas tree in your house.

I'm sure if I pulled out statistics it would show most of the US follows Christianity, so the majority (who celebrate Christmas) having to conform to the minority (who don't) isn't right.

If we have to do that, we might as well adopt Spanish as the national language and forbid speaking English.
