Ok, Im sure a lot of you know that the X collection is coming out in a mere 2 days, but I was wondering if it is ok to do a speed run on a MMX game from the collection, or does it have to be the actual cart?
Thread title:
The BaldurManiac
If the game is different then it'S a different category, if it's the same... well no one care Tongue
dinosaur from the past
Isn't MMX "1" the only one that was actually on a cart anyway, as opposed to a Playstation disc?
I'm addicted to games
Uh, Yoshi, mmx1-3 are all snes games.
MMX1, 3 and 4 were on PC.

MMX1, 2, 3 were on SNES.

Megaman X3 was also on... I think Playstation or Saturn, one of those CD-based systems.

MMX 4, 5, 6, PSX.
yeah, x3 on saturn had fmv intros for the bosses, making it a different version for timing ... not that i've ever even seen it played before anyway. x4 was also on the saturn and is said to be identical to the psx version (i've played both and i didn't see any reason to disagree).

Yeah, the PC version also has them.  I liked them for the most part..

Well, the lag from X1-3 is supposed to be gone so that might make a speed run a second or two faster, would that make a difference?

I think he means maybe slowdown within the levels.  I.E. the original NES Mega Man games (Especially say Hard Mans stage in Mega Man 3 with the gator jaws) had a ton of slow down.  I don't recall there being much noticeable slow down in MMX, but eh.

Yes, there was plenty of slowdown in the X games, it resolved itself quickly, but it was still there.
Happy Mega Man X Collecters Addition Day!

...it is today...isn't it..?

SDA time clock notwithstanding.
Yeah, I said it.
Indeed. What a perfect time to do a Mega Man X speedrun. Smiley

One budget calculation and one purchase reconsideration later, Mega Man X Collection will be mine within two weeks.

Just ordered it (and a little something else that cost three bucks) from Play-Asia, including shipping it landed on 36 US dollars and 30 cents. Not too shabby.
